Been a while since you've all heard from me huh?

So I'm sure everyone's wondering "where's the servers" and "are we really coming back?".

To answer where are the servers...at the moment they don't exist.

To answer if we're coming back...yes and no at the moment.

Let's cover the "No" before getting to the "Yes".

The ownership of 4250stuck has been up in the air really since the beginning. The main owner (codex) used to have a lot of time to devote towards the servers and thus it wasn't too big of a deal for him to both pay up a good chunk of the server cost and help moderate...as it stands, it's a matter of "Times have changed..."

Some of us have jobs, other hobbies, and outside social lives we need to attend to and that does pull away from us being able to run 4250 to the degree we were seriously, most of the moderators know eachother IRL and meet together regularly). We tried bringing in outside mods and having fun with that...but it became a matter of many of us not playing and yet codex was paying for the servers whenever donations didn't line up.

The "old" 4250stuck is essentially not returning, but this is for the better.

Here's the "Yes":

There is still interest in reviving 4250stuck, and this time as something a little different. The idea now is for it to be a "for the players, by the players" situation. This means that rather than 1 person cutting into their own budget to keep the servers up and running, we will need help from the entire community to get the servers up in the first place.

My pitch is this (and can be seen in one of my prior posts). We need people to effectively pledge (not donate) towards the start of a new server. This is pretty much a promise from you guys that you'll be willing AND able to donate a certain amount towards the server. I don't have an exact budget on hand right now (something that's being worked on), but the idea is that we'll obtain enough funds to cover 4250stuck's Sandbox Server for a 6 month run.

Now I know some people would be perfectly okay with just donating to the server and seeing this return...others need some convincing.

We're working on figuring out perks for the server and such, but if this plan goes through there WILL be a special VIP tier for players who help this happen...

I'll post more info as we figure it out, but let this stand here to show you guys are still on our minds.
