For our first session, "Primer" turned out to be pretty fun.

This session's command team was staffed by Stardog, Mooja, Brady and Gumby each of which did a fantastic job. It's not easy to take the reins and try to find that perfect balance between what's realistic and what's fun but they each managed to work together and found that balance so again, thanks to all of the them for a considerable effort.

I'd also like to thank everyone that registered. I know gaming is supposed to be something 'fun' but pre-registering and then following through is a commitment so I'd just like to say I appreciate it.

Funnily enough, most of the preparation we put into a mission was for Person of Interest. Brady was able to discover that all of that planning wasn't necessary when he decided to blow up the Officer using a Satchel Charge. I'm pretty sure Gumby grabbed some video of that mission.

So in the end, for our first Pvt. Tuesday, we went through the motions, learned a bit about what works and a bit of what doesn't. We'll swallow it down, digest and see what comes out the other end and try again next week.

Also, there are 3 slots left for players to register. During the Pvt. Tuesday session (7pm to 10pm central), the server will be password protected so 'bus COOP' will be unavailable to players during that time who have not registered for the Pvt. Tuesday session. To register, go to the "Primer" discussion thread in the Pvt. Tuesday's discussion sub forum and reply to the thread confirming your attendance. Be aware though: we're going to try and elevate the level of gameplay to more serious levels: controlled communication and strict levels of teamwork. We may not achieve our goal but we will definitely be trying. If you for some reason attend and are not able or willing to work with others in the manner expected, your future registrations for Pvt. Tuesday events may be discarded.

For anyone that wants to submit a mission to Bus COOP, I'm putting together a "Zone Clearing" template that you can use to build your own missions. It includes:

-5 re-activating zones (clear when there's no enemies, active when there are)
-10 playable units (2 4 man fireteams and 2 pilots)
-2 choppers (respawn enabled)
-2 hunters (respawn enabled)
-1 repair area
-4 ammo crates
-All necessary triggers for 'hinting' when zones are cleared, reactivated and for ending the mission when all zones are clear
-A basic briefing script
-Respawning
-Markers that help to track the locations of choppers, hunters and fire team leaders

The template will of course be modifyable. The ZC template was tested out late last night with the help of some of the regulars and though we weren't able to clear one zone in coop10_zc_civic_duty, we were able to clear all the zones in coop10_zc_assault_south so I believe the 'template' is working properly. I should be able to post it soon.
