Backing up your Dark Souls 3 Game Saves

This will help you create a simple Windows command to save your DS3 Game saves to your DropBox (or any other) folder.

The actual command is this:

@echo off copy /Y "C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\DarkSoulsIII\0110000100a20012\DS30000.sl2" "C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Dropbox\Documents\Game Saves\DarkSoulsIII\0110000100a20012\DS30000.sl2"

Right click on your windows desktop, select "New" -> "Text Document".
Change the name to "backupDS3.bat". Make sure windows hasn't called it "backupDS3.bat.txt" or it won't work. Windows automatically hides file extensions so this might be tricky. The icon for it should look like a couple of cogs, not a "document" one.
Right-click and select 'Edit'.
Copy and paste the command above into it.
Replace [USERNAME] with your windows user name, then save.
Double click to enjoy the glorious backing up.

This does the same thing as dragging a dropping from one folder to another and confirming the overwrite. You shouldn't do this while the game is running, as DS3 writes the save when you quit.

It can be altered to copy to any folder but I use DropBox because it keeps a file history. If you accidentally overwrite (or delete) a file, you can go back to a previous version.

For extra points, you can create another one exactly the same but have the copy the other way around, so that it restores your backup

New entries take a second to read this important message.

Please make sure you click on the "Join Group" AND THEN "Enter Chat" buttons in the main page.
This will allow you to become an official member of the group and be able to use @ tags and mentions in the group chat.

Once you are in group chat be sure to use the @online command when asking for help so people can see it that you need help!
