In 1998 a decomissioned Russian spy satellite in low-Earth orbit detected a previously unknown organism approaching the outer limits of our solar system. This organism would later come be known as the ＢＩＯＴＨＲＥＡＴ - an extragalactic organism with only one evolutionary imperative: to consume any and all available biomass!

In the years following the bloody clash between Earth and ＢＩＯＴＨＲＥＡＴ forces during first contact, the United States Navy commissioned the development of a new training program for infantry level extra-atmospheric deployment and combat protocols. This new breed of space warriors, the Battle Astronauts, represent the cutting edge of modern military technology and tactics.
