SOBRE Bellaire 4 Dead

Bellaire 4 Dead is first created when a few friends from Bellaire Texas began playing Left 4 Dead together. Since then, we've had few, but important, additions to our group. Our main purpose is not to seriously compete, but unite a local group of players and have fun. We DO take nonlocal players, so feel free to ask for an invite. However we do ask that you be active and don't take things too seriously. We are not a hardcore competitive group! (Doesn't mean we don't have competitive members ;))

L4D2 Survivor tips and strats

As the first game, staying together is essential for survivor in L4D2. However, the new versus mode requires that all survivors get as far as possible to get a high score. There is no such thing as health bonus, keep this in mind as you proceed with the stage. DO NOT*** go around rooms looking for supplies when you don't need them. There are MANY supplies provided in each stage, and you will not need every single one. Better to rush through the stage than get trapped and take damage in certain rooms looking for supplies.Note that ammo is limited and one gun will not get you through an entire stage as it used to do. It is a good idea to switch to the secondary weapon in less crowded areas where firing the primary weapon is wasteful. HOWEVER DO NOT over use the pistols/melee weapon: it WILL cause more damage to you than if you use the primary weapon. Do not try to advance through an open area with a melee weapon, common infected will have an easier time damaging you and special infected (esp boomer and smitter) will find it much less challenging to attack you.

Rushing seems to play a much bigger role in this game as the new infecteds (charger and spitter) are aimed at breaking camping and doing so will end with a large amount of damage. The team that gives the least amount of chances for infecteds to attack will come out victorious.

Weapons:
Ranged- The sniper rifles remains rigged compared to shot guns and rifles. Read the post titled "Important L4D2 links" for weapon information and statistics (will help you differentiate each weapon)

Melee weapons - These weapons are one hit KO to common infecteds and do not have a "fatigue" timer. Many of these weapons have different swing time, arc, damage, and range. Refer to "Important L4D2 links" for information on swing time and damage. Range needs more testing, but use real world application for now. For example, baseball bat and axe has longer range than the samurai sword, but the sword has a faster swing time. Personally, I like using slicing weapons as it's easier to differentiate between zombies that you actually hit and those you missed. A bladed weapon will chop a body part off while a blunt weapon does not. Because of the sometimes poor hit detection and mistakes in identifying dead zombies, it's likely to miss a zombie, thinking it's dead, but getting a good punch from it soon after.

L4D2 infected tips and strats

This is going to be a continuation of the last posts "Tips for infected" for L4D1. Boomer, Smoker, Hunter, and Tank strategies remain mostly the same. Note that some of the strategies for these infecteds may be out of date to buffs/nerfs.

Boomers: It SEEMS that the boomer range has been nerfed. This means that both the puke AND explosion seems to have less range (someone do some research/test to confirm please.) Aiming higher increases range, so aim somewhere above the target's head. Ambush is a must. Never FOLLOW a group of players or approach from far away. Easy way of approach is to jump down on a group of survivors (be aware that it's easy to shoot you while you're dropping, so try to drop from low places). Female boomer and male boomer noises are different.

Smoker: Everything seems to be the same. Tongue strength seems to be nerfed.

Hunter: YOU ARE HEAVIER!!! Air control has been nerfed, so you no longer have as much control in the air as you did previously. The hunter is heavier so you won't go as far as in the first game. Adjustments are needed.

Tank: Same as last game. Note that you can punch multiple things with one punch.

Jockey:
You don't do much damage, you are very situational, you die easily. Probably the worst special infected yet. Your leap does not go very far and has a recharge time long enough to get you killed. Try to leap BEFORE you are in a survivor's face, so there is less chance of getting meleed. Your giggling noise IS CONSTANT, you are a pretty loud target to hear. However, the jockey can easily blend in with a horde due to his size, so use it to your advantage. Jumping into a full group of survivors is suicide and will achieve nothing. It's best to attempt to walk a survivor into the fire, off a ledge, or into other damaging/time consuming places. Your other main task is to separate survivors, so use any openings (3 boomed, distracted, etc) to do so.

Spitter: You are probably the strongest infected! Key here is to stand on high ground and rain death from above. Use your spit right when someone is getting beat in the middle of a horde or helping another up. DO NOT*** spit on a downed survivor if s/he has next to full health; it will not kill him and any damage done will go to waste. A red crosshair implies that the spit will hit the wall/ground. Do not try to snipe the survivors unless if you're sure it will hit them. Note that you leave a small puddle where you die. You'll be good to go as soon as you are experienced with the spit's range and drop.

Charger: The toughest special infected (aside from the tank). You run very fast and can take many bullets before dying. Your punches do 10 damage each and charge for 10 damage on hit. Your smashes to the ground do 15 damage each, although some what slow. In other words: your attacks can HURT! note that the slowness of the smashing should discourage you from charging into a full group of survivors (you will probably die before even getting one pound in). You cannot control the charger while he is charging, and crashing into the wall gives a pretty big recoil. Charge only when you're sure you will hit, and preferably not from far away (unless if the survivor is not in a moving condition and/or is distracted). Missing a charge renders you next to useless due to the length of the recharge. If you miss a charge in any case, run in circles around the survivor(s) and right click to punch (10 damage each!). Note that charging one off a ledge is INSTANT DEATH, use this in every possible case.
