So for me, at 9:25am, i logged on and mod 566885854 downloaded. I tried to connect to the server and I get the message "Mod Version Mismatch" Please ensure the Server you are attempting to join is running the latest version of all Mod content."

Yes, when a mod updates through steam, when you log in it updates client side. It's not automatic on server side unless you run a script. So Depending on how big the mod is or what the changes are, server needs to be brought down and mod updated. If you are able to connect to the server b4 the mod downloads then you can still get online.
