Understanding New Valve Ranking System

A lot of players ask me how to rank up easily and fast, well I don't have the proper answer to that but what I can share is my knowledge about valve new ranking system is pretty clever and very systematic.

After valve release (Implement) their new system, lots of player having a nightmare from being derank so much after defeated only for a couple of match.

Well, this are the reasons why :

1. Moderate Skills
2. Getting boosted by teammates
3. Inexperience

Before valve release their new system, there's a lot of player whos in high tier competitive rank but only have moderate skills and absolutely no game sense when playing. They only placed in high rank tier just because getting boosted by his/her teammates and win the match without even doing anything. (We can conclude that there are so many players in high tier without skills)

This is the list of ranks in competitive mode :

- Low tier :

1. Silver I
2. Silver II
3. Silver III
4. Silver IV
5. Silver Elite
6. Silver Elite Master

- Normal tier :

1. Gold Nova I
2. Gold Nova II
3. Gold Nova III
4. Gold Nova Master
5. Master Guardian I
6. Master Guardian II

- High tier :

1. Master Guardian Elite
2. Distinguished Master Guardian
3. Legendary Eagle
4. Legendary Eagle Master
5. Supreme Master First Class
6. The Global Elite


So the main reason why valve implement this new system are because they want to re-shuffle all players' rank based on their skills. It will be harder for players to earn high tier ranking after the update. So we can conclude that only players with great game sense and skills will be placed in high tier. No more noobies with high rank anymore. Only pros stayed.

How to rank up fast ? Here's the secret :

1. Always solo queue
2. Carry the game

Why solo queue ? Why not lobby ? Well, let me explain it :

- Valve understand why players love to lobby queue with friends because :

1. Friends
2. Proper Communication
3. Understanding
4. Well listened
5. Knowing each others skill

So valve decided to make players who win when lobby queued hard to rank up because they have a lots of advantage when playing with friends. That's why when player solo queued, they will rank up 60%-90% faster than lobby queue. Why ?

1. Random teammates
2. Communication barrier (Playing with other players in a same region / Some of them doesn't
know how to speak english)
3. Unknown skills

When you win solo queued with those disadvantages, valve will reward you with faster ranking up in competitive mode but as always, you have to CARRY the game or MODERATE K/D.
You can rank up as fast as 3 matches for low and normal tier and only takes 7 matches to rank up in high tier. But what if you lose ? Don't worry, you will only get derank after lose 5-6 matches for low and normal tier (low K high D) or 7-9 (high K low D) and 1-3 of matches for high tier (moderate K/D) or 3-5 (high K low D).

How about derank in lobby queue ? Well, it is 70%-90% faster if you lose the match because you lose the match even though you have a lots of advantage when playing with friends.

P.S : This is only my understanding how valve new system works. Not 100% legit tips from valve.

Training" Schedule

Once we have a full roster sorted out, we should be starting to train regularly together and discuss strategies to use on different maps. I have listed our goals below.

We should:

-Find out which members of our team work best at certain roles.
-Find out what maps we work best at.
-Rank Up together in Match Making.
-Start Team Vs Team Competitive Matches.
-Start Playing in Tournaments.
