Greeting server administrators. I have been working away at a browser based version of the administration tool and can announce its availability today at https://www.se-admin.com/. Most of the functionality from the original tool is available, the main omissions are server whitelists and blocking by IP address.

I intend to support both tools. The main reasons for a second tool are for technical reasons:

• Installation of the executable is becoming more problematic as microsoft tighten up security requirements.To get past them would require code signing and certification, which cost an excessive amount of money for something I'm giving away for free.
  
• The tool takes 220mb of space due to the need to bundle a java virtual machine. Whilst that's not huge, I feel it is an excessive amount of space to take and I have no reliable way round it without creating huge support issues for myself.
  
• A browser based tool is always going to be up to date.

The browser tool does have some security preconditions you will need to be aware of before it can be used. These are explained in the FAQ and the getting started guide.

All your data is still local - nothing gets sent back to the server. The only thing I can see from server logs is the IP address of anyone accessing the site.

All comments and suggestions for improvements are welcome.

• Remove all support for IPStack. It is causing more problems than I am prepared to support.
  
  
• Changed the IP address checking to reduce delay on connecting to a server with several players already online. Extreme IP limits the number of checks to 20 per minute, so connecting the tool to a full server was resulting in an initial delay up to 45 seconds before displaying any player information. The lookups are now performed in the background and the player IP address is shown until the real location information can be collected. Online player locations will be collected with a delay of 3.5 seconds between each one.

• Change of preferred IP address lookup to https://extreme-ip-lookup.com/ following IP stack reducing their free tier from 10,000 requests per month to 100. Please note you will need to go to https://extreme-ip-lookup.com/ and sign up to the free service to receive an API key and then edit your server settings file to add the new key:

  IPStack is still supported, but I strongly recommend you move.
  
  
• Change word wrap for messages to 125 characters from 70

• A dark theme mode as requested by a few people - see the checkbox at the bottom right.
  
• Split long messages into multiple lines as the server just silently ignores them otherwise.
  
• Modify example configurations so that any local changes don't get lost when you install new versions of the tool (issue noticed by Sidz)
  
• Allow an optional upper limit of player experience. Requested by MateiSim to support a server just for new players.
  
• Installer now requests administrator access due to a number of people unable to change their configuration files after installing.

• Change detection of private profiles to match changes by steam.
  
• Handle linked player account no longer existing more gracefully.
  
• Improve detection and handling of server restarts and disconnects.
  
• Log more information when game ends and player leaves to assist with data analysis.
  
• Change layout controls for server information pane. Text is misaligned for some people.
