A source of first impressions and let's play goodness.

Steam recently rolled out a curation system with the intent of offering a better way to discover games and determine whether or not you wish to purchase them. Steam users may now follow a "curator" and receive updates about their recommendations and reviews of a title.

I have decided to join this program to help promote the games that I have enjoyed playing on my channel. Every game I review in this new system will also have a video attached. Therefore, if you see a recommendation on my curator page then you will be able to watch the "First Look" video associated with that game.

I am particularly excited about this program because of the potential benefit that the indie game scene will receive from the extra promotion. Having an extra outlet to share the wonderful games that we have played can only strengthen the community and make it better.

More reviews and information on a game also helps the consumer make an informed decision on whether or not they would enjoy a particular game. It helps protect them from regretting purchasing a bad or broken game while at the same time aids them in finding products that they would enjoy.

I aim to provide this benefit through my "First Look" series by providing you all with a glimpse of the experience that you will get by playing a video game for the very first time. At the same time I try to explain some of the core mechanics and share with you my opinion on the aesthetics of the game. That has always been the main goal of my First Look series.

Keep in mind that a first impressions video is just that. A representation of the experience you will get when you load up the game for the first time. I do my best to show off as much of the mechanics and gameplay as I can. However, a first impressions video is by no means a formal review of product. Instead, my First Look series is meant to be used in conjunction with an actual review of the game in order to help you make an informed decision. It is purely a supplemental piece that should not be used as a basis for your buying decision.

That being said, I am very excited about this program. I look forward to making more videos that share my excitement for a game, critique of the mechanics, and utter failure at playing the game.
