What is SOD?:

The Specialized Operations Division is a ArmA III unit dedicated to quality and consistant operations curated and executed by a veteran team of map creators and gamemasters. We do infantry-based warzone operations more frequently than others, and have an ongoing storyline for the current campaign our mainstream operations run on. We strongly encourage the download of TaskForceRadio. SOD is a semi-realism unit with higher difficulty missions, but these missions still allow fresh recruits, or those new to ArmA, with an incredible and teaching experience.

What are the attendance protocals?:

We allow anyone to go in and out of operations as they very please, you will not be penalized for missing operations. However, if you currently are available to join a MANDATORY TRAINING, but refuse to join because you are playing a different game, then you may be penalized.


What happens when I first join?:

You will become a RECRUIT, from here you are held to a higher standard than most other Military recruits/enlistees. After your first operation with SOD, you will be evaluated by the NCO you were under, this NCO will present the evaluation to the COLONEL. From there, he will see if you are ready to be promoted to PRIVATE. Please note this process is different from how we promote normally, also please remember that Training Sessions are not counted as operations.

How does SOD operate?:

While you may think from the relaxed attendance rules that the unit is undisciplined, this is not the case. During operations we emphasise extreme seriousness and compliance with orders. Strict loadout rules and are applied along side assigned combat roles. In missions we create, failiure can occur easier than most others if there is a complication in something as small as using the incorrect type of ammunition.


Do I have to be in the unit to join operations?:

No, with the Colonel's permission you may join an op without joining the unit. The only rules are that you would follow orders, be respectful, and be extremely serious. You will be held to a higher standard if you claim to be from another unit as well.
