Heyho,
you may have noticed that Noize Shifty is no longer a part of this group. Since many of you have joined the group because of him I feel we should explain what happend, from our point of view.
Since there are always more sides to a story than just one, dont expect the full story here, but rather what I have experienced. Feel free to reach out to Noize Shifty to hear his side of the story.

About an hour before posting this I recieved a message from Noize Shifty wishing me luck with this group and Aizawa. I checked the group page seeing that he had left the group. He left a note that he would make his own group because he felt disrespected by one of the owners.
I immediatly sent him back a message asking what happend. He responded by deleting me from his steam friends. I reached out to Aizawa to hear what he had to say to the matter.
He told me of a conversation the two had, which led to a point where Noize felt being disrespected by Aizawa. After that we havent heard anything from him (see below why I left out the conversation itself).
Whatever Noize Shifty read from the situation, I can assure you that neither of us (Aizawa, Rektor) ment to disrespect him at any point, but rather do we highly respect him for what we did for this group and the commitment he showed.
I believe that this is a misunderstanding and I am eager to resolve this issue.
We have tried to contact him since, but all attempts were dismissed by him.
I hope that Noize will explain his side at some point, but if he does not we can only wish him luck in his future endeavors.

Why I left out details of the conversation
I dont believe I should share details to the conversation for several reasons: a) to protect the privacy of the two parties b) it doesnt fully cover every aspect of the situation (e.g. the motives like emotions and such) and thereby c) could lead to faulty assumptions.

I'm are sorry to announce, that we have decided to cancel the first Rekfest (our tournament), because of an insufficient amount of registrations.

If you couldnt participate because of various reasons, but you generally like the idea of the tournament please leave a comment so we can evaluate if we should make a second attempt at some point in the future.

I'm here to announce the first Rekfest community tournament!

Overview:

When? December 20th 2014, 15:00 CET
Who? Anyone
What? A series of NCG:Wreckfest races.

How to participate:

First you have to register at least one hour prior to the event start. You do this by leaving a reply in the official tournament register discussion.
Second you have to be ready to wreck some cars when the tournament starts. The expected duration of the whole tournament is 3 hours. All relevant informations you need can be found here:

The tracks:

(Route1 if not specified otherwise)
Gravel: 6 laps
Speedway Oval: 10 laps
Tarmac: 5 laps
Figure 8: 10 laps
Sandpit: 4 laps
Speedway Figure 8: 10 laps

The prize:

This main goal in mind ist to make you all happy, but there is also a small price for the winner planned. Also will the winner be honored with the "Player of the Week" title in our steam group.

The schedule:

For the first round all players will be equally shuffeled into groups of up to 24 players. Each group will play an iteration of the track list. For each race the first 12 players will earn points (s. Below) towards the qualification for the final round.
When all groups are finished, the players with the most points from across all the groups will qualify for the final round. The final round is similar to the first round, except the points earned will determine the winner of the tournament.
If you can host stable 24 player servers in europe, please leave a note when registering.

The rules:

Cars
Any car and upgrade is allowed.

No griefing
Sure, this game is about crashing and wrecking. But you should always have the drive to try and reach the finish line. If you decide to grief and destroy the competition instead (like driving in the wrong direction), you will be removed from the tournament (and banned from future ones). Don't be scared though. You wont get kicked just because you crash one person a few times too often. Just dont forget about the finish line.

No cheating
Yeah, kinda obvious.

Using the reset function
Feel free to use the reset function. Yet you are encouraged not to abuse it.
In case disabling the reset function is implemented by the time the tournament starts, we will disable the reset function though.

Have fun
Seriously, if you dont want to have fun, this tournament is nothing for you. Also, dont have fun at the expense of others either.

-The maximum of participating players is limited by either the amount of hosts we have, or an absolute maximum of 576. Registrations will be considered on a first come first serve basis.

Final words:

This tournament is for you to enjoy. Remember this game isnt in a state where you can have serious competition yet, so dont let bugs/features discourage you from giving your best.
