A simple place for gaming.

It has come to my attention that Valve is attempting to spread the system of Paid Mods to the entire community. The simple idea of paying 3rd-party entities for derivative works of a game has sparked controversy over the future of mods and backlash over payment, copyright, legality, rights, restrictions, etc.

PsI Clan has and is a adamant supporter of the gaming community and, up to a point, Steam in its promotion of user-friendly and community-based creations and suggestions. That being said, as leader of the clan I am disapproving of the current system implemented partly on a moral, ethical, and social basis, but mostly on the technical and legal basis that this does not have the support and grounds to be a successful endeavor to anyone but the companies themselves.

That is my initial opinion. What I do want to hear is everyone's opinions and what PsI should do in regards to this matter. Should we support paid mods, throw it all out, or attempt a new system altogether? It is important to be more objective than subjective when it comes to matters such as these so bringing out positives and negatives on how the system could work is monumentally beneficial to everyone involved.

We are united in our cause to promote a greater and more enjoyable experience to ourselves and our community in our love and passion for gaming. Let no one trample on that fundamental principle!
