Everyone set your profile to friends only. I just had a scammer try to scam me. Here is an explenation on what happens in this specific scam: Copied from a discord user

> He is trying to scam others by saying he reported you on steam by accident. And that your account will be terminated if you do not take action.
> He will then link you to a steam account where a "steam dev" will talk to you in dms to "sort things out."

> The scammer will then try to "Validate your inventory", "Needs your account credentials" and "You need to pay to save your account"
> If you manage to give him all that he will then take over your account and pretend to be you to screw all your friends into doing the same thing.

These spam announcements are coming from multiple, compromised accounts posting public announcements in multiple groups. I am an admin of the guild but working at contacting the owner/officers to get it under control. In the meantime, I am reporting each one of these in hopes that Steam will do something else.

Howdy all, been hardcore gaming since my 1st computer, a commodore 128 with 5 floppy drives. Days of warlords 3, civ, dune 2000 and ""please insert disk 3 into drive" and that faint sound of "gind...gind...grind" as it loaded the data into it's massive internal chip. The days when your computer was a keyboard hooked to the tele and computer lab at school was playing dig-dug on a apple with that green screen..lmao. Guess I qualify as an old timer.

I'm so old. I remember there was 2 online games and that was it. Quake and that took a Mod and Team Fortress. Beyond that there was MUDS, I think, I never played those. I hardly ever buy games new anymore. But I love a sale, or a humble bundle. It's just crazy.
