Well, I believe that yesterday went relatively well besides the fact I had to change the pass due to a bunch of admins sperging out. At one point the server reached around 90 people, which is incredible considering for most of the years our communities have existed we were capped at a mere 28 slots.

Anyways, I'll cut to the chase:

Now that KRP is officially closed, I have decided to refit the steam group into a museum, and the discord into a retirement home/hangout spot.

As for the steam group, you can notice that the main page has been altered with several links to excerpts and guides that tell a little bit about our history.

I also put together a timeline of our communities, but please note that it's a WIP and I have no experience from the days of SoE or TRP, so the timeline may be inaccurate from those dates.

Kaisers Roleplay now has 100 slots, this is primarily for the ceremony on the 15th, but it's also for any server fill-ups prior to that.

Now on to more important news, some of you have been asking if we're gonna do a Bannerlord server. Well, I got some info from a reputable source that Bannerlord won't introduce private hosting until after EA is done. This info comes from supposed public and private discussions with the devs (Though I don't know exactly where, but I definitely trust the person relaying this information.)

The devs also hinted that EA may not be done in this year, which means EA might only end next year. If you add this to the statement "private hosting after EA", it looks very likely that even if we wanted to host a server we wouldn't be able to host it until 2021/2022.

I don't have any plans to revive KRP for Bannerlord, that may change, but nothing is planned right now.

Please take everything that was said with a grain of salt, speculation is speculation, things may definitely change. However, right now the outlook for Bannerlord doesn't look so good.

Well... here we are, the inevitable has come around. I know you might be confused as to why we'd be closing, some of you might jump to the conclusion that Jamhalo and Sababall resigning are the sole reason as to why we're closing, but that is quite far from the truth. The reason for closing has been clear and present for quite a while now, for months or even a year or two! Saba and Jams resignations have simply brought the reason to light (albeit briefly). Their resignation served as a convenient time to do this whole thing.

Oh, how do I say this? Well, point one: The admins are ♥♥♥♥. To a blissful few this may come as a surprise, but to many this isn't breaking news. Though we easily manage a full server on weekends and sometimes on weekdays, the admin team isn't what it once was. I can count maybe four-five admins out of the whole admin team that run the place with the rest being dead. Now, I don't want to bash or insult the actually active admins, but out of those four-five admins who are active, there's only one that I deem actually worthy of being an admin by yesterdays standards. Given the circumstances of having a community in a game with a steadily declining playerbase, one can't exactly be picky when selecting an admin as you're already scraping the bottom of the barrel. Due to this bottle-necking of our admin team, you can say that the general quality of the server has dropped due to a majority mediocre admin team that runs the whole show.

However, I'm definitely not exempt from blame when it comes to the sorry state of the admin team. Obviously, I didn't try enough to shape these admins into what they should be, that I am guilty of. Yet again, there's a certain level of aptitude required from an admin that I can't find much of nowadays. There are also certain qualities that an admin must already have, something that can't be achieved through any amount of training. When you have so few to pick from as it already stands, you can't truly be picky. I apologize to those admins even though I didn't name them, you were accepted into a job that should've had higher standards, not everyone has the capability of being an admin and that's okay, you aren't bad or stupid because of it! I can't blame the inactive admins for being inactive either. Some of the inactive admins were simply burnt out from being admin for too long, but a lot were inactive because of my second point:

The community is ♥♥♥♥. This is the most important point and what drove me to contemplate shutting the whole gig down. As I have stated before, we're based in a dying game; don't expect the greatest selection of players due to this! Many of us veterans reminisce about the good old days, back when the community (the roleplay and NW community as a whole) could be considered plump and bountiful. Now we're left with the scum and mold after the rest of the milkshake has evaporated. Am I saying that every single one of you new players are bad? Nope! In fact, there many veteran players that sour the whole ordeal much worse than any new member could ever. Obviously, everything living shall experience stagnation followed by death, a community is no exception to this law of life. Generally, the newer players have brought upon less willingness to actually participate in roleplay and if you couple this with the fact that newer admins that have less capability to host actually good roleplays, you have a recipe for failure. KRP was destined to die, whether it be a couple months from now at the pearly gates of Bannerlord, or ever. I don't want to see KRP slowly wither away, which is why I'm putting it out of its misery while the premonition of failure is but a mere distant worry.

To quote a wise man: "KRP is the ugly cancerous armpit of the NA NW world". We're much more chaotic and immature as opposed to other communities of the NW creed. I would go as far to say that we've become a sponge of sorts; one that soaks up all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and rejects that the rest of the NA NW communities regurgitate. Sure, KRP is alive, but can you really say it's alive AND well?

I have my roots back at the beginning: Nappy's Roleplay, one of the first roleplay servers on NW. Though I took a hiatus and only returned to the roleplay scene around the time of RoR, I've still had the opportunity to see community for what it once was, and for what it is now. Truly we've always been a cancerous armpit of sorts, but never to such an extremity as we find ourselves in right now.

Even though I'm going off on a tangent, I would like to point out that I don't hate you all. I enjoyed my time here, I still had good moments even more recently. We've had a lot of great events, a lot of great roleplays. You're all my babies, but it's time for papa to send you to the orphanage.
The community known as Kaisers Roleplay will cease to exist as an active community on March 15th, the same date as the Ides of March. From that point forward, the steam group and discord shall be preserved as a testament to what once was. You will be free to still use the discord and comment on the steam group, but beyond that it serves no purpose other than a time capsule.

On March 15th, however, we will be hold a grand festival to pay tribute to not only KRP and its predecessors, but to the game Mount & Blade: Warband as a whole. We'll do roleplays, have an official funeral procession, ect.

Inactive admins, if you're reading this, I encourage you to admin a few times in these last few weeks, as it's the last chance you'll ever get. Inactive players and veterans of the older communities, I invite you to come on March 15th, to pay tribute to the community you once took part of.
While the community shall be rendered inactive, we shall still exist as community, no? Hell, I might even host some events in the future that don't pertain to Mount & Blade, who knows!

Fellas, it's been a blast, but all good things must come to an end lest they eventually turn bad.
Oh and no, I'm not resigning, I'm going down with the ship.
