As the title reads, the higher-ups in the IBEC gaming group think the group is too small, so we need YOUR help recruiting new members! I think 16 is a little small, considering we're supposed to cover 4 grades with 60 students apiece. Although I think we've reached the max with the current junior class, the lowerclassmen can still recruit! You guys know who's in the PC gaming interest, or at the very least, who has a potato that can run TF2. So help us out, guys! There may be a reward for anyone who invites the most members....

Well, summer vacation has ended, and you know what that means; it's back to class! Yee. because this group consists mostly of rising juniors and sophmores, I can focus what I'm saying towards both of these cohourts.

Rising Sophmores: may God have mercy on your souls this year. Push yourselves extra hard, the whole time, and you may just find yourselves with enough time to get all the work done. Feel free to ask me or any of the other juniors about assignments, because they can be pretty cryptic in description from time to time, if memory serves.

Rising Juniors: (those of you who survived last year, that is) UNCW awaits. Remember to actually do the work that's assigned to you, ask professors any questions you may have, use all of the time and resources available to you. Take advantage of the time that we've been granted and use it to study, go back over work, write papers, whatever it is we'll need to do. Hooah.

Hope you all had a great summer! This group may fluctuate in activity, depending on both my schedule and the schedules of other active members. We will be resuming Friday night gaming as soon as we've all settled into our new schedules, and will be posting annoucments and activites as the need arises.

Note: I'll also be putting up a discussion thread for the game night suggestions for the games we should play, and the time for said games. Add to it so we can best coordinate to your schedules!

BEST OF LUCK TO US ALL IN THE 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR!

As you may already know, Principal Sutton has been reassigned to Murray Middle School for the 2015-2016, part of the county's decision to move a total of 4 principals for the upcoming school year. The sophmores in the group and myself have spent all of our days in the learning cottage under his hand, and he's been with us through the best of times, as well as the worst of them, especially this past year. Regardless of anyone else's disposition towards him, I would simply like to express my gratitude for his service and time to us at Isaac Bear. While his leaving us is unexpected, and and comes without any explanation from the Board of Education, there is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that he is armed and ready to take on whatever Murray may have in store for him.

To thank him, a surprise party is being held at Isaac Bear tomorrow, Tuesday, from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM. From the official Facebook event page by Hannah Faircloth (senior);

Okay, based on the overwhelming response for Counter-Strike at 5 PM on Fridays, it seems that five-o'clock Counter-Strike it is.

...Yeah.
By that time, our Honors Projects will be turned in, it will be Friday, and we'll want to unwind before our study sessions this weekend, so I think it sounds good.

Okay, Bearhawks. I know that this group has been kind of quiet as of late, with Tracer's PC being... well, gone, and all of us kept busy with schoolwork, I thought I should post an update, seeing as it's been four months since the last one.
I'll go ahead and say what needs to be said:
It hasn't been easy, but we made it through with our fair share of scratches and bruises.

Moving on, we're looking to recruit more members by year's end, so we can have sessions over the summer with an adequate number of players. Tell your friends, enemies, and teachers to add you on Steam and join this group! We have 12 as of writing, and I'd like to see us get to 20!

Now, onto the main point of this post: gaming. I recognize the fact that we haven't had the time lately to host any events, and that has been partially my fault on a lack of planning regarding homework. As I speak, I probably should be preparing for that essay Micallef has planned for us. We're going to try to start up gaming in this group, legitimately this time, on Friday afternoons/evenings. Comment below a time that works for you, and we'll try to piece something together that the most members can attend. Going along with that, we need to pick games that the most members own and want to play with other bearhawks. Team Fortress 2 is free-to-play, but I know not everyone likes it, so I'll leave suggestions open. Other games might include Civ V, or Counter-Strike. Let us know so we can find out before Friday. I'm choosing to start it up this weekend because it seems that the schoolwork is throttling back a little bit, so we may actually have time to host such an event.

I believe that's everything I had queued when I set out to write this, but now that I think of it, we should almost set up a homework chart in here as a persistent post, to double check on due dates and whatnot. I think it'd be useful, but I don't know how often this page is seen by individual members. Maybe it'd raise page activity, who knows.
