Yup, for those unaware Ive got prerelease code for Stellaris, the embargo being lifted at 00:00 May 5th EST. Which is in about 6 hours and a half.

DISCLAIMER: This is in no way a means for me to point fingers or blame anyone for anything. This is just me putting out there my thoughts about the stream and where it is going..if anywhere.


As you might have noticed in the past few weeks, I have tried to move away from EUIV. The game has lost its luster for me, especially with the lackluster update that was The Cossacks. As far as I am concerned it did not hold to my expectations and is another waystone on the path where the game is becoming much less of what it used to be. Anyway, the point of this s not to bash on EUIV.


So, I followed the advice everyone was giving me when I got frustrated about EUIV and got bored of it : Play something you want to play.

So I have. While being more enjoyable for me, it certainly have not helped the stream at all. While managing to keep a small viewership while playing CK2, I have gotten pretty much nothing since I started playing Warframe a few days ago. Those who have been watching knows who they are, but you also know how empty the place has been.

Not only that, but overall in the past 7 days I have a net growth of -5 followers. That's right, after counting the few new followers, I still went down by 5 followers overall. As for total views (That is different viewers watching the stream for at least 1 second in a single day), I dropped from my usual average of 100 to roughly 15.

Yes, the fact that I was working for the last month and couldn't land in the 12-16 daily hours have to play a part in the total views and followers. It doesnt account for the fact that the channel is empty for the vast majority of the hours I stream. Not to mention that since a week now, having lost my job (For reasons I can talk about some other time) I have returned to a long stream time.

Anyway, all that to say that while I'll keep streaming, Ive come to a point where its time for me to realize this channel will never grow to the point where I need it to go. Its been over a year now and at a monthly average of 80 net followers, Ill get in the 5k (roughly the level where people get partnered) in 8 years. Sure, it would eventually reach a point where it snowballs, but whatever, Im mentally exhausted about it and I don't see where it can go whatsoever.

Frankly, again, not to point fingers, but every channel I see, no matter how big or small they are, have a core viewerships who sticks around and watches no matter what game is played. Some come and goes as life happens, some dropping for a while for this or that reason, but still a core is still there, bringing the channel alive, even if just a few people, just to bring the channel alive.

Well after 13 months of streaming with an average of 10 hours a day (I did calculate it), probably more than 99% of all the regular streams out there, Im starting to wonder if I wasted my time through that year.


Not that anyone will read this anyway. 1075 followers, 76 members on the group (even though I ask people to join in everytime I end the stream). And probably none interested in reading a wall of text on Steam.
