Also, altrough game came out in a raw state, the dev already fixed some of the major issues, like mining AI and victory condition issues, and he promised to release more updates eventually.
Tleno 7 Dec, 2012 @ 5:34am
Also, I wouldn't really say dev don't behave like that, I mean, Markus "Notch" Persson wrote some mean stuff about Bethsda's head when he got sued because of all that "scrolls" trademark thing, then after discovering it was done on the lawyer's own initiative and e's not related to it, he apologised and remove the psot from his blog. Such things in videogame business happen quite often, and game devs are people like us - just that major companies have representatives and other people to take care of the crowds and write to them official replies - but this doesn't mean people behind their games aren't as hot-headed as anyone else.
Like just now I've read on Kotaku about head of Sony trolling Nintendo with his Wii U. Not really mature, but, honestly, hilarious.
Tleno 7 Dec, 2012 @ 5:34am
Kitsurubami, eh, this group is kinda somewhat dead, and dev definetly has no intention to come back check on this group ever again, if you have anything immportant to write or suggest to the dev, you can write to him at [email protected]
Kitsuru_infernus 6 Dec, 2012 @ 5:13pm
Dev... I like the game Concept it reminds me of Worms you had a great idea for the game and it would have been great! it just needed more work A lot of companies push back the release date due to issue's like that or they will do a Beta.
However it feels like you pushed the game out without careing about the consumer's
that would be buying your game and trying to support you.
i have kept CC i want to see whats done with it. if nothing is then it shows me how
you treat your consumer's and if something is then good its another step to that {professional additude}.

I love games. and i wrote this because i am very bothered by all of the posts from the consumer's and from you Data. i am not trying to step on people's toes by posting this
i just wanted to be heard :) thank you.
Kitsuru_infernus 6 Dec, 2012 @ 5:13pm
I for one Support Eve i also want Dev to fix issue's that he KNOWS are there and when your starting out a Business theres a certain professional additude you must take on to deal with any one or anything that will come up. You dont see Sqare Enix or Bioware Sending messages Or posting immature comments like that because they got upset at comments made towards them no matter what happend with there content.

I am glad Eve started his posts and it shows his dedication to games and the facts
with out his posts i would have become MORE mad at the dev and had a nerd rage.
Fizban Frobozz 2 Nov, 2012 @ 4:37am
Don't put words in my mouth. If you have a problem with something I have said, start a topic and we can discuss it. All you are doing is making up things to post here and try to make me look bad and the dev look good. We get it, you love the game and the dev. Doesn't make anything I have ever said untrue.
Tleno 2 Nov, 2012 @ 3:59am
I think that, overall, the way you claim developer has conned, is wrong and is smearing of Data and his game. The game is unpolished, but all the planned features are indeed intact, that is fog of war, campaing, and such. Sure the bugs were known earlier, but as I said they would keep appearing-reappearing in builds, from different reasons or in different ways, so you can't really say he intendedly sold a bugged game, he may have been unaware of the bugs due to lack of testing (remember, the game is runing totally okay for some!). Also, the dev is WORKING on update, so why does he actually try to fix and immprove the game if he has conned the people more caring about the profit that about what he is selling?
Fizban Frobozz 31 Oct, 2012 @ 12:31pm
What post of mine do you feel is smearing the game? Start a thread with a quote from me that you feel is a smear job and we can discuss it. Telling people what the game is like honestly is not smearing. And the number of people reporting their refund request being denied still outnumber the reported successes. You always seem determined to convince people everything is fine with no reason to support your position. What have you seen in this developers history that warrants the faith you keep preaching? 11 years just to get this far?
Tleno 31 Oct, 2012 @ 11:33am
There are actually people on Steam, I've read their comments o nthe hub, that they managed to get a refund. So there's nothing immposible here.

And I have nothing against informing people about the state of the game, it's just that you're more smearing the game than informing about the current condition!
It appears to me that you're just mad at the dev and trying to make his life as bad as possible by simply smearing his game!
Fizban Frobozz 31 Oct, 2012 @ 10:27am
Have you ever read my posts. I want people to KNOW about the state of the game. Why don't you? What is wrong with you that you don't object to people being misled and having their money taken? There are a bunch of people here who experienced that and are rightfully upset about it. Why do you care so little for them and so much for the person that did this to them?
Tleno 31 Oct, 2012 @ 4:42am
So instead of actually trying to encourage him to redeem himself and fix the mess, you just want to make it all worse?
Excelent strategy!
Fizban Frobozz 30 Oct, 2012 @ 10:07am
Actually, since you asked, I don't explore the datarealms forums. All I have read is his statement of completion (the blatant lie I refer to) and some of the threads people post links to her. And even in that small sample of his forums, there are people there who REALLY like the game, but aren't blinded as you truly seem to be about the problems of the game itself and the inadequacy of the developer.

Call me names all you want. The simple truth is, the developer willfully misled customers and in my opinion is a despicable scoundrel.
Tleno 30 Oct, 2012 @ 4:08am
It's also funny how you want him to apologise to you yet you still keep mudslinging him.
Tleno 30 Oct, 2012 @ 4:08am
Bah, you're a stubborn butthurtist!

I mean, just look at the old description... it was so short, the information it gave was so vague... It had such basic information there even was nothing to lie about, that wasn't lying, that was, obviously, rushing!
Also, if he lied on the forums, how come those bugs actually not appear for some people altrough as I know earlier they happened to everyone earlier? I think it's more of not lying about the bug fixing, but just fixing them uncompletely without beeing aware that they still may affect a portion of people, and that is not lying.

So wait, now you're exploring the Data Realms forums just to proove what son of a Hitler Data is? Do you really think that will help anything but fuel your own and other's hate for him?
I mean, you keep yelling about what a terrible jerk he is, he ragequits, nobody gets updates and nobody gets refunds. Myabe you should act more diplomatically?
Fizban Frobozz 29 Oct, 2012 @ 10:22am
Yes it was either all an accident as Tleno believes. He accidentally lied on his forums and had his game described accidentally incorrectly.

Or he blatantly lied on his forums about the games completion then orchestrated a Steam release deliberately aimed at misleading people into purchasing his game when, if informed, they may or may not have done so.

You know, the second sounds a lot more likely, as well as fitting with what I know of his character.
Tleno 29 Oct, 2012 @ 1:55am
Well, the original game description was very rushed, it didn't have no warning about game still beeing uncomplete and didn't even have gamke features mentioned. There was just a short description.
Then he updated the description to what we have now.
Fizban Frobozz 28 Oct, 2012 @ 10:09am
@Rajamonni, the biggest thing was the misleading Steam release and the subsequent handling of said issue. Don't want to rehash it all in the comments, but if you've read the threads here you should know what I'm talking about. If not, start a new thread and I'm sure people will be happy to explain it again.
0xbaadf00d 28 Oct, 2012 @ 7:09am
It seems that most people have trouble with the dev, not the game. Would you mind telling me why and please provide source material where I can verify your statements. What I could find out was that the dev banned 6 people because they were behaving inappropriately. But as to what the behavior was, I could not find anything.

I like the dev because he seems to take making games very seriously and he has some great ideas, although he doesn't seem to be an ace programmer. The Cave Vehicle Engine thing he's making seems good. A ripoff from blastermaster, but that's what i'v been waiting for.
Tleno 28 Oct, 2012 @ 5:26am
Yes, altrough this group is more democratic than the hub, it's most active members are those who completely dislike the dev and his game, so they ussually are very sceptical about any sort of support to the dev or praising his flawed but unique game.
Fizban Frobozz 28 Oct, 2012 @ 3:48am
@Rajamonni, you are of course free to come here and post your feelings about the game and developer. And those posts will remain to be viewed by any who come looking. But if you post sticking up for the developer, I think you will find plenty of disagreement. That's the beauty, everybody can speak their mind here.
0xbaadf00d 28 Oct, 2012 @ 3:41am
Am i not allowed to state my opinion if it's not hate? :D
Is this a hate only group?

Sorry if it's inconvinient for you that I like the game. I'm beginning to see why the dev lost his marbels with you guys.
eldoon's noodles 28 Oct, 2012 @ 3:19am
Dime-a-dozen, Raja.

Thanks for your recycled input.
0xbaadf00d 28 Oct, 2012 @ 2:49am
I bought this game before it was released on steam, i'v had loads of fun off from it. Totally worth the money I paid. And what's even better is that i'm supporting an individual in his efforts at making games such as this, and not some coproration.

There have been games that have better/worse bang per buck ratio. Get a job, the game isn't that expensive once you have income.

And don't think you know anything about actually developing software, unless you have done that for a living for 6 years.
Fizban Frobozz 27 Oct, 2012 @ 4:40pm
apparently they do, because I am.
Tleno 27 Oct, 2012 @ 9:42am
Hmmm... no, doesn't sound like it. I mean, I don't think Steam allows people to stay banned without so beeing mentioned.
Fizban Frobozz 26 Oct, 2012 @ 10:00pm
My guess, they don't want to advertise the fact they banned so many people merely for opposing viewpoint?
Fizban Frobozz 26 Oct, 2012 @ 9:23pm
@Tleno, no idea why that is. Ban still in effect.
Tleno 26 Oct, 2012 @ 5:40am
Eveque... I checked the hub and is it just me, or there is no more (banned) next to your name?
Tleno 26 Oct, 2012 @ 5:10am
Alright, i'm back... had something immportant to do for a couple days.

Actually, there was already an attempt in that... and as far as I heard from the guy who started that, the Steam guys said something about the description of game actually beeing misleading. That was actually like several days after release.

Oh, not sure if you're aware of this, but some time ago they changed the policy (last time they changed the Terms of serice) so you can ask for a refund... but you gotta be convincing enough.
nrelliott1s 25 Oct, 2012 @ 8:25pm
I encourage everyone to write to Steam and request their money back. They have a no-refund policy, but if enough people let them know the game is not up to snuff, maybe we'll get somewhere.

It really diminishes the value of the platform to have things like this on here.
cyberspy 23 Oct, 2012 @ 3:25pm
I really think data should lower the price to 10 or 15 dollars 20 seems a bit much.....
Fizban Frobozz 23 Oct, 2012 @ 12:53am
@Grossmeister B, I'm glad your happy with it, especially if you paid the Steam price. Welcome aboard.

@nightflayme, love the attitude. Made me laugh. Welcome
songshroom 22 Oct, 2012 @ 10:32pm
I've been with this game since b23, and having seen it evolve a little, I have no gripe with it. It's so replayable that any time I feel, I can just pick it up and have a great time. Those of you on steam who gripe about it simply don't see the whole picture I guess.
nightflayme 22 Oct, 2012 @ 3:18pm
as someone who hopes to one day make my own game, i have a lot of respect for the developer of this game. i don't know how much of this is true, but my understanding is that this guy worked his ass off for 11 years trying to make an awesome game BY HIMSELF teaching himself as he went along. the game is by no means complete, and there is a lot that needs to be fixed. i thank you for inviting me to this group, because the steam forum is absolutely infested with trolls and trollers of trolls, and trollers of trollers of trolls. i'm glad that there is a place where others who want to discuss the game can freely express their opinions of this amazing game.
yeah, i wrote a long-winded comment. so what, you wanna fight about it?
Grossmeister B 22 Oct, 2012 @ 1:19pm
Hi Evecque, thanks for the invitation. Cortex Command is an awesome game.
Tleno 22 Oct, 2012 @ 8:07am
Says the master of untypicalness.
eldoon's noodles 21 Oct, 2012 @ 9:09pm
@SarahAnn

You people could not be any more typical.
Fizban Frobozz 21 Oct, 2012 @ 5:38pm
@SarahAnn this may not have even be possible as the dev stated he has removed the demo. Not sure when he did this.
Fizban Frobozz 21 Oct, 2012 @ 5:36pm
@awesomenesss I am really glad to hear that. If you look at my posts you will probably be able to see my message isn't entirely anti CC, it is mainly pro information.
SarahAnn 21 Oct, 2012 @ 5:35pm
Game is awesome, if you purchased the game without trying the demo than your an idiot who shouldn't get a refund.
Hypaiva 21 Oct, 2012 @ 2:03pm

Fizban Frobozz 21 Oct, 2012 @ 1:45pm

why did i join this group? ♥♥♥♥ how do i leave :(
Jay 21 Oct, 2012 @ 10:29am
Rather than being a huge ♥♥♥♥♥ about it, just get a refund. They have consumer legislature laws that make sure consumers have the right to push for a refund.
vewlixx 21 Oct, 2012 @ 9:37am
lol ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cry more
Flauxhawk 21 Oct, 2012 @ 8:48am
Thanks for the invite, Evecque. I think this sort of forum is important, especially since you encourage discussion - note hate or praise.
Punch Dog 21 Oct, 2012 @ 7:17am
