L4D2 Dedicated Server

It took longer than I expected to work out my kinks with PayPal, but the server is up an running! After talking it over with Space, we have picked Dallas, TX as a centralized hosting location for North American group members. We haven't tested it out with full 4v4 verses yet, but pings have been acceptable for the few that helped me test it.

As a lobby leader, you can take your game there by using the command "mm_dedicated_force_servers 96.8.115.229:27015". It's a group server, so I want everyone to feel free to use it, but you may want to check with Space or myself to make sure it isn't reserved. You probably know our usual playing schedule by now and when we'd be using it.

I have uploaded the following custom maps: I Hate Mountains, Detour Ahead, Precinct 84, City 17, We Don't Go To Ravenholm, Warcelona, Blood Proof, Drop Dead Gorges. I will be uploading more as time goes by, and I am open to requests. The goal is to have a good rotation of custom maps and enough group members to play full games of Versus on them.

I will not be adding perkmods or other overpowered gamebreaking features, and on the serious end of the spectrum, I don't feel that ProMod is inclusive enough for our group of friends. There will be bug fixes and small tweaks, but it will definitely feel and play like Vanilla versus. Keep an eye on the Message of the Day screen, it will list any tweaks that impacts gameplay no matter how small.

On the silly side of things, I did get Left FORT Dead barricade builder running again. Obviously it will be disabled by default because of how exploitable it is, but it can be toggled on through the admin menu when wanted. If possible, I'll make it a voteable command so it can be enabled by a majority vote (without requiring an admin), and I'll post a follow up guide on how to build in the next few days.
