ABOUT Beyerdynamic

Beyerdynamic GmbH & Co. KG is a German audio equipment manufacturer, which produces microphones, headphones, wireless audio systems and conference systems. Beyerdynamic remains a family owned company since it was founded in 1924.

In the 1920s in Berlin Eugen Beyer recognised that the cinema presented a new opportunity in communication media. The first products he produced were loudspeakers for film palaces in 1924.[1] At the end of the 1930s Beyer developed the first dynamic headphone.[citation needed] World War II temporarily froze production, however, in 1948, beyerdynamic sought new beginnings in Heilbronn. The "Stielhörer" DT 49 became a cult item of "Plattenbars” (Record-Bars) in the 50’s.[citation needed] The "transistophone", the company's first wireless microphone, went into production in 1962. The 60’s brought accolade: The Beatles went on tour with the E-1000 microphone. This eventually led to Beyerdynamic establishing its North American subsidiary by the end of the decade.[citation needed] Elton John, Abba, and Stevie Wonder all sing into sound transformers from beyerdynamic.[citation needed]

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul all media reporting sites were equipped with headsets from beyerdynamic.[citation needed] The new “Bundestag” in Berlin is fitted with digital microphones.[citation needed] The reporters from the Football World Cup in Germany use the DT 297 headset.[citation needed]

For several years now beyerdynamic has used new forms of targeting. The company promotes music festivals, promising new bands and sporting events with high-end equipment.[2]

In 2006 beyerdynamic introduced three new products. The new Opus 900 wireless systems, Headzone – the first mobile headphone system to allow professional monitoring with virtual 5.1 playback, and Revoluto, a new wireless conference microphone unit without a gooseneck microphone.[3]
The latest inventions until 2011 include high-end aviation headsets with digital noise reduction, individually manufactured headphones for iPod fans and hifi headphones with novel Tesla Technology.
