Giraffe has passed away

It is with terrible sorrow to share the news that Giraffe has passed away.

Giraf/Iain was found unconscious on the morning of Monday 8th of May by his mother, and had not woken up since. He was put into an induced coma, but it was found that he'd suffered catastrophic brain damage from a stroke and was unable to breath by himself after coming off the ventilator. He passed away last night, May 17th, surrounded by family. Iain was 29 years old.

It goes without saying, but Giraf really was the funniest, most kind-hearted, intelligent and personable man. His unique charisma and charm was loved, and will be dearly missed, by many many people. He was a great friend to so many and will continue to impact our lives long after his unfortunate death. Words can not fully describe what an unique person we have lost.

We plan to stream a film, in his honour some time soon, you are all invited to join if you'd like, we are also reminiscing on memories of him in his 4chon Telegram group chat:

His cousin, who was like a brother, would love to receive letters from anyone who knew him, a message of condolence, perhaps a favourite memory, what he meant to you, or anything you think is appropriate. Please send to this address:

4chon turns 10 years old this week

The 4chon community turns 10 years old this week. Although the website itself has been dead longer than it was alive (thanks, STI!), I did not want this milestone to pass silently. The site left many online and offline ripples, still noticeable today. An anniversary worth remembering all the good memories we've had.

I hope you are all having a good time out there. Comment under this announcement if you'd like to join the Telegram group chat. We have about 30 members. Or if you just want to share a memory. I'll try to check it regularly and contact you with an invite link.
