About 23. Panzer-Division:

We’re a collection of like minded individuals who strive to virtually reenact and recreate combat operations of the Wehrmacht in World War 2. We take pride in our historical accuracies, and aim to offer the most authentic realism experience to someone who wishes to join our ranks. As well as realistic combat, we structure and operate our group as Wehrmacht units would have been historically. This encompasses ranks, tactics, tactical commands, radio procedures, uniforms, medals, weaponry, and most importantly camaraderie.

Last Sunday we launched a counterattack deep into the Soviet lines, capturing a strategic hill which threatens the enemy flank.

23. Panzer-Division Kuban campaign begins today!

The destruction of the 79.INFANTERIE-DIVISION in the STALINGRAD-KESSEL was not complete as the DIVISION-STAB and a REGIMENT-STAB were flown out in February, 1943. The division was reorganized on March 25, 1943 as a full division by an order on February 12, 1943 at STALINO in SOUTHERN RUSSIA. This was done by adding the reinforced GRENADIER-REGIMENT.636, replacements, convalescents and those on leave from the Division, as well as the remaining stocks of the 298.INFANTERIE-DIVISION (GRENADIER-REGIMENT 526, ARTILLERIE-REGIMENT 298, PANZERJÄGER-ABTEILUNG 298). The supply units largely came from VERSORGUNGSTRUPPEN 140 of the 22.PANZER-DIVISION. INFANTERIE-REGIMENT 179 was disbanded and distributed.

After the reorganization, the division was relocated to the KUBAN BRIDGEHEAD to fight alongside other units WEST of KRYMSKAYA. The division is being transported by all means capable to the Kuban. GRENADIER-REGIMENT.226 and PIONIER-BATAILLON.179 have already been heavily engaged just to the south of 101.JÄGER-DIVISION area. This is not expected to change soon.
