Farming Simulator 19 is just what it says on the box, it's a farming simulator. There's some aspects of the game that are fairly sloppy... there's nothing more realistic than working hard on a farm, earning a lot of Euros underneath the American flag. So I guess the developers will one day work out the USA doesn't use the Eurodollar for their currency, but it is not this day.

Gameplay consists of running a farm, of course, using various industrial farm equipment to harvest crops, plough fields, sell stuff at market, and try get rich off the land. This is quite a reasonable game loop.

The game is pretty good as far as these games go, with 4K resolution, graphics tweaks, decent visuals and enjoyable game loops in the same casual vein as Euro Truck Sim and other games like that. I'd almost recommend it, but there's one great big problem... the developers abandoned this, made it obsolete, and replaced it with newer more up to date versions of the game that they expect you to buy on top of this. Game developers must try to understand it's unethical to keep republishing the same game with a different year on the end... this is price gouging and it creates a pool of obsolete games that are unrecommendable over the newer editions.

In an insult to gamers everywhere, the game features advertising on the menu screen! To try get you to pay up for the most recent version of the game! This is absolutely unacceptable to pollute the user space with this kind of garbage. This is completely unacceptable and is yet another reason gamers should avoid this. It's a greedy, offensive practice that simply must not be tolerated.

So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 110,000+ games on Steam?

Farming Simulator 19 has the greedy, cash grab price of $18 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Yeah, an eye watering eighteen bucks for obsolete abandonware. It's impossible to recommend this because the developers have made this obsolete by releasing newer/updated versions (while somewhat questionably leaving this superseded version on Steam).
