You're not ready for this game...

Have played dozens of city-builder-type games, and have found NOTHING else with the detailed micro-management levels which this game requires...play on realistic settings, and run face-first into steep learning cliff (not a learning curve). Learning the interface, mechanics and how various parts of the game interplay with one another will drive you nuts...but once you 'get it', bid your family/friends farewell...this game is addictive and fun.

Realistic mode is hardcore experience, and if you are bored with other building games that are just cookie-cutter games with different looks but same old mechanics, then try this if you're up for the challenge. But be prepared for a long learning process. Stick with it...learn to use the game as it is designed to be used, and don't be one of those who whines and complains that it's broken just because you can't figure it out...and we'll see if you can create something that survives and spans an entire map.

Those who have issues with the game are often more times than not people who want to queue-up a huge amount of construction projects, and then leave the computer running while they're off doing something else (afk-playing) -- then when they come back hours later and find that there were issues arising with citizens' needs, supply-chain issues, etc., which caused die-off of citizens, projects halted, and so-forth they then blame the game...as though they expected the game to play itself and correct the mistakes the player made. If you can't be bothered to actually take part in playing the game why bother buying it to begin with.

Lames who play like that deserve the frustrations and unhappiness they bring on themselves -- unfortunately they often leave unjustified negative reviews, saying the 'game is broken', etc., when the issues/faults lie entirely with the user.

Definitely recommend this for hardcore builder-game fans.

My expectation playing for the first time:
"Meh. I've played tons of city games. I'll just do some tutorials, then start a new custom game on the hardest mode and figure it out on my own. Easy."

The reality of playing for the first time:
1 = cos2 (x) + sin2 (x) = (eix + e-ix )2 /4 + sin2 (x) = (e2ix + e-2ix )/4 + e2ln(sin(x)) + 1/2

10/10 game.

This game add way more complexity than your typical resources transport management (well if I don't compare it to mods from another open source game, but even then, they don't have the same gameplay).

It has potential to be next to way bigger games in the same genre.

Pro:
- You can manage way more things than your typical transport management game (power consomption, garbage waste, snow on road, contruction materials, constructions trucks, ...)
- You can also enable/disable major gameplay mechanics to fit more with your gameplay
- Simple road signs (that does something) (but very limited)

Con:
- Many UX issues - including around building road/path. That become annoying and they definitively need to work on the layout building experience.
- Somewhat limited on the load/unload conditions (while having some kind of unique conditions!)
- If you enjoy managing traffic, it doesn't have a lot of stuff

Other:
- I wish it would use better graphics
- If you are a campaign kind of person, there is basically none
- Somewhat hard to manage worker ratio in factory at a city/world scale.
