do forcefields stack with shields

I dont understand how to have fun in this game Can someone explain it to me?

Are caves worth it to visit or too scary? Sometimes I get a really nice sensor device there, sometimes I get mobbed something serious. My materials strategy is to run to the nearest stairs as fast as possible. Should I figure out where they go first? So far storage is my favorite area. I like the orange, I like the drones. Maybe i'll get lots of hate for this post but i have to express my feelings about the game's development process. Don't get me wrong. I love this game. I have played it for years (with breaks). It is full of content. The graphics are great. The sounds are awesome. I am truly amazed by the amount of atmosphere and gameplay this game has. Kyzrati is very skilled at what he does.
