How to Play:

• Right click on TFC in your library (or select the Settings cog on the game page)
  
• Select Properties in the drop down menu
  
• Under the properties tab, select Betas
  
• Change Beta Participation drop down from None to publictest

How to make sure your new version is ready and updated:

• Go to properties tab Installed Files
  
• Then use the 'Verify integrity of game files' feature

Is it true? A new update?

We've updated our old engine to a newer gen look! Going max settings might require a higher spec system (farewell xbox 360 specs), but we've also added a few more graphics options to fine tune game performance (try "Render Amount" on crowded maps!), and you can expect some optimizations later. Fortunately, the new and old TFC are compatible, so no need to worry just yet if your system can't yet run the new version, or you prefer the old look. There's a bunch of mostly minor changes added as well, but will lead up to much larger ones in the future.

This map by Trublemaker 12, with deep mountain vistas and faraway skylines, highlights many in-the-works changes on the ol' Train Frontier rendering engine.

On top of a lot of visual, usability, and art updates, we're currently working on some core game changes we've wanted to do since the TFE days. The game won't be playable until it's finished, which is why were holding onto other changes (like the gfx update) until it's done. Thanks for your patience!

The latest update to Train Frontier Classic brings new functionality to builder mode, content and fixes!

We have a new prop building UI, including a quick swipeable prop list and the ability to select/copy placed props. Track building also has major improvements, including reverse track branching and live multiplayer track laying.

In other big news, we're testing a raise on the maximum car limit, and have doubled the amount of active cars! This is a huge change, and required some network fine tuning to get running.

We've been trying to track down some of the bugs that have been reported since last update. We think we've nailed down one the huge freeze bugs. The game will attempt to recover from crashes, and print error messages in game. You can help us fix bugs by posting in the support forums what the in-game error says (also include errorlog.txt in your game folder), and what you did to get the error!

A new 0-6-0 tank engine joins the Train Frontier line up! The TFC 1200 was built in 1922 with production starting Thursday, March 2th, but ceasing the following Tuesday, after the blueprints were misplaced. Oops. Only three 1200s were ever produced in that time. Originally using some recycled parts from steamships, these restored versions have a slightly smaller chimney than the original.

Look forward to some era-specific cars based on your suggestions!

Our first new locomotive is coming to TFC! This boxy little guy was based on your feedback. There will be a few paint jobs available when he launches along with some new props.

This patch will be more substantial than previous ones. There's an exciting surprise feature in the works which will be completed just in time. Also more improvements/fixes will be included.

We were able to extend our EA Launch sale into Steam's Winter sale event -- so if you've wishlisted the game and were looking for a relaxing ride during your holiday break, grab it while it's cold!

Workshop support is ready for deployment, but we'd like the community to get their maps prepared for launch day! Expect workshop launch soon, within the next few weeks, or even sooner! More details to come.

We've been releasing small patches, including an overhauled conductor UI, builder UI improvements, multiplayer voice settings, and many small fixes.

There's also now an in game help overlay for new players unfamiliar with the features and hotkeys of the builder.
