Can't get the crossbow with shooting stars and I'm stuck

I am playing on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers. When I'm offered the crossbow by the Octupus at the bar, I reach and try to grab the crossbow and then it always falls down to the ground and disappears. I can grab anything else, including the fish, the beers, anything within reach. But the crossbow I am not able to grab or see after I try grabbing. I reach on the floor to where it should be, but nothing. Any clues on what's happening?
