Back for an 9th time, it's the 2018 Indie of the Year Awards, celebarating the best games released this year.

Hey Shifters,

During the development of Shift Quantum, we had to cut on a few gameplay blocks that remained in our “nice to have” list. We really loved them, so we continued to work on a few after releasing the game. Three of them are now finished and available for free in game. All you have to do is to launch the game, select the new branch in the menu called “Traps” and enjoy 30 new levels specially created to showcase these new traps. We hope that you will enjoy them as much as we did and can’t wait to see the deadly levels you will create using them in the level editor.

This year again, we are proud to be part of the Indie Arena Booth (Hall 10) at Gamescom 2018 showcasing Shift Quantum one last time.

As announced on our Discord[discord.gg], we'll start to communicate soon about our next typing game which goes by the code name "Typing 2", until we reveal the name of the game in September. We'll be glad to have a little chat about it and gather your ideas during Gamescom too.

We recently fixed a few bugs and wanted to let you know. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you find more issues.

• Fixed issue causing player to fall off the world
  
• Fixed issues with player not dying from falling crates
  
• Fixed stability issues in the editor
  
• Updated time out to 15 seconds to fetch community levels
  
• Fixed update of black and white blocks that could sometimes be incorrectly set
  
• Removed default entry and exit door when creating a new level in the editor

Also, Steam has a new functionality allowing developers and publishers to create their own Steam pages. We made one for Fishing Cactus, where we'll share info about all our coming games that don't have steam pages yet but also run contests to reward the community. Follow the dev page and comment its latest announcement in order to win prizes such as t-shirts and copies of our games.

We wanted Shift Quantum to be more than just a puzzle game, where we aim to draw you into the world, give you purpose and ask questions. Shift Quantum’s core creates perspective duality by inverting the world between black and white, but we wanted to deliver this conflicting two-sided existence beyond more than just the aesthetics.

During development, we paid particular attention to the details; making it an interesting, rewarding and challenging experience. Shift Quantum’s Level Editor is not just a tool, it is part of the detail that brings the story to life.

When you play Shift Quantum, you participate in the Axon Vertigo’s experience. When you use the Level Editor to create your own puzzle challenges, you are no longer as an experimental subject, instead, you put yourself into the shoes of an employee of Axon Vertigo creating cerebral progression levels for the Shift Quantum program. Just like our game designers when they created all 117 levels of the game.

The wide variety of gameplay blocks associated with the shift mechanic is an open door to creativity and head-scratching solutions. You will be able to conceive your own crazy levels, share them with communities to be played and receive a level rating. The higher and more ratings you get, the top of Axon Vertigo’s best level page you will go.

We needed the tool to be very user-friendly and easy to pick up and to guide you in your first steps, Mary from Axon Vertigo has provided a preview video on how it all works. Remember we are delivering happiness to all subjects, so have fun!
