So these DLCs mention all this currency and XP stuff, I only want to get the game for single player so should I bother with it or just get the base game?

i am a bomber, void bomber, and i'm tired and sick of all gamble and item weapons dropping for angel, osprey and paladin, is is this? gamble just drop items for these 3? theres no way to obtain blades with more rarity?

Is it possible to use pilots in Wastelands? I can go to My Inventory, then select Pilots from the drop down menu, then double click on a pilot. The icon gets a yellow outline but I cannot tell if this pilot is active or not. Also, when I leave and come back to this menu, the pilot does not have the yellow outline....
