January Small Patch - v1.2.88

Hello everyone!

Small patch today with various fixes for reported bugs over the last few months. Please continue sending in reports (our email at [email protected] is the most effective place). And thanks for playing!

1.2.88 Changelog:

-Fixed cloning Power Cores exploit involving the Store's undo option
-Fixed repair platform exploit for achievements involving healing and using 'undo move'
-Plasmodia, Spider, and Blobber bosses will correctly take damage from Void Shocker
-Kills from the Void Shocker will correctly trigger on-death effects and XP
-Frame Limiting setting and End Turn Confirmation setting fixed
-Alpha Vek icon restored (important for colorblind mode) for some of the new enemies
-Removed Earth Mover / Mine Bots from the Attack Order display. They do not have queued attacks, so any positional order is misleading.
-Restored Terrain Icons in situations where Fire may be obscuring other tile information (Conveyor Belts, Cracked, etc.)
-Using Enrage Shot to make an enemy attack a blank space will now appropriately trigger Void Shocker
-Logic for determining if a tile is "dangerous" has been improved to account for units being pushed. This is helpful for Enemy AI, Pod Placement, and more.
-Enemies should no longer spawn behind the player on the Forest Fire mission (rare issue)
-Earth Mover's tile will can no longer start as Cracked
-Possible fix: Game could hang when it could not find a place for pawns to spawn
-"Let's Walk" achievement will only count enemies now (as described in the text)
-"Minor" enemies will no longer count towards the "Pacifist" achievement (making it easier)
-Fixed bugs around Networked Shielding to make it more consistent
-ACID will now remove Vek Mites even if the pilot has Thick Skin
-Fix for extremely rare cases of Vek corpses being pushed when they should not be
-Fixed numerous bugs around the weapon effect preview UI
-Wind Torrent push-ordering has been modified to make outcomes more consistent with the effect preview
-Minor text / UI issues fixed

Mod Helpers:

-Pilot skill "blacklist" is now a part of the scripts
-Blank "modloader.lua" file is now in the script file to help with mod loadings
-Added "GetFTLPilots" to pilots.lua for generating the Secret Pod pilot list.
-Added access to Pawn:SetBoosted(bool) for the scripts

Hello everyone!

Super small patch today, only three changes for bugs that were caused by last week's update.

-Enrage Shot will once again work now
-A relatively rare soft-lock has been solved
-Some animation issues fixed where enemies would fall into pits/water prematurely when pushed

Into the Breach version 1.2.82 Update

Our most recent update is now live! Full patch notes below. Let us know if you come across any problems (email us at [email protected]).

-Improved save file backup system to prevent data loss
-Fixed: Bonus Objectives were being improperly blocked for some missions, resulting in bad combinations
-Enemies that are supposed to not overlap should no longer spawn together (Blobbers + Spiders, etc.)
-Fixed some prediction UI and consistency to weapon effects in corner cases
-Miner Inconvenience will no longer count mountain destruction twice
-Spiderlings are now "Minor" enemies -- they will not receive Psion bonuses and do not count towards objectives 'kills'
-Vek Hormones will now stack with Enrage Shot, contributing its bonus damage when Enraging an enemy
-Can no longer Enrage frozen enemies
-Closer / Opener / Conservative will correctly apply their bonuses as soon as the pilot levels up
-Fixed: Could not select Invulnerable pilots if they died the same battle as starting a new Timeline
-Fixed: Conservative Pilots would sometimes continue giving their ability post-death
-Void Shocker will not count hitting a rock as hitting a unit
-Fixed: On "Fast" Combat Speed, enemies could push corpses from previous turns into things
-Spider Psion eggs will not longer fall on Time Pods
-Adrenaline Pilot Skill will now correctly count multi-kill turns
-Fixed some maps that could create trapped units
-Fixed some problems with touch UI tooltips
-Void Shocker will not longer effect Bot enemies
-Can now Enrage and Control the VIP Trucks and Mine-Bots
-Fixed some issues with notifications for Pilot Death / Pilot Level Up
-Repair Platforms now repair 10 damage (fully repairing any Mech) instead of 4
-"Feed the Flames" achievemnet will no longer count enemy or environment attacks
-Spider Boss will no longer spawn outside of its mission (only works on its mission)
-Technician Perk will correctly count towards the "Stay With Me" achievement
-Secret Squad Pilots will no longer receive the "Invulnerable" or the "Popular Hero" skills
-More tooltip, minor rendering, and text issues fixed

Into the Breach: Advanced Edition Update - Now Available!

Advanced Edition is a free major content update that will be available on all platforms today!

The following is the primary change list, but there’s a lot of small bug-fixes and tweaks here and there.

Major Additions

5 New squads & 15 new squad achievements!
7 new Vek, 3 new Psions, & 10 new boss battles!
12 new missions & 3 new bonus mission goals!
4 New pilots & 10 new random pilot abilities!
39 New weapons & equipment!
2 new music tracks from composer Ben Prunty!
Even more challenging difficulty mode, Unfair Mode!
7 New Languages! (Arabic, Thai, Swedish, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, and Latin American Spanish)

Other Changes

Optional Content Toggles - All of the new content (enemies, pilot skills, etc) other than balance changes are possible to turn off if you would like the base-game content experience.
Weapon reactor usage reduced - We wanted to encourage players to immediately try out equipment they find, so we reduced the reactor power to equip most gear.
Store Changes - Since you can now instantly equip most weapons without needing an additional reactor core, the reputation cost to purchase weapons has increased by 1 and the store options are limited in the first 2 islands.
New weapon mechanic: KO effects - Certain weapons will trigger an additional effect if the primary target is killed by the attack.
New tile mechanic: Cracking - Certain weapons will cause the ground to crack. If the tile is damaged again, it will shatter, destroying the tile and anything standing on it!
New status effect: Boost - This will increase the next attack’s damage by 1. Highly effective for AoE attacks!
Unlocking Squads with Coins Change - The cost of unlocking squads with coins has been reduced to account for the extra squads.

Unfair Mode Tips

This mode is for veterans looking for even more of a challenge but it might require different strategies than you're used to.

There will be many more situations where damage is inevitable so it’ll be more important to take losses strategically - depending on the situation, it might be better to lose grid power, sacrifice a pilot, or fail a mission objective.
Grid power gains are doubled which means it’s much easier to pull back from the brink of defeat. Don’t give up after a few setbacks.
There is a limit to how many Vek can spawn so sometimes it’s more advantageous to leave some weak Vek alive rather than wiping them out early.

Into the Breach: Advanced Edition Coming Soon

We are excited to announce the free Advanced Edition update for Into the Breach, coming out on July 19th! Nearly every aspect of the game will be expanded with new content, including:

New Mechs and Weapons: Five new mech squads and nearly forty new weapons.

New Challenges: More enemies, more bosses, and more mission objectives that add additional challenge and variety to any run.

New Pilot Abilities: The expanded roster includes four new pilots and triple the amount of skills any pilot can earn through promotions.

We’ll be elaborating on all of this new content over the coming weeks before launch and can’t wait for everyone to check it out.

Into the Breach version 1.2

Localization:

Into the Breach is now fully localized in 9 new languages! These are:

French, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, Polish, Brazilian-Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese.

Into the Breach has a shocking amount of text. It’s been a long process to get it all localized and adapt the interface for new languages. We’re excited to be welcoming new players from around the world to play. Big thank you to Riot Loc, Emilia, and 8-4 for their work in translating the game!

Linux Version:

There is now a fully native Linux version of Into the Breach! You may already be playing with the Proton version through Steam, but the native Linux version should now be available.

Touch Interface:

There is now a specifically designed touch interface integrated into the game. Anyone playing on PC touch-screen devices will be able to use it -- just tap the screen to swap over at any point.

Weapon Reputation Cost:

Prior to this patch, all Weapons in the Store cost 2 Reputation, with one randomly selected to be ‘on sale’ for 1 Reputation. From now on, all weapons will always cost 1 Reputation. We wanted to encourage more risk-free experimentation of weapons during a run, and felt this opened up that opportunity to players.

Engine Update:

This part of the update will hopefully be invisible. The tech that Into the Breach was built on was ancient, and in order to help guarantee support far into the future we spent some time modernizing the backend engine.

Mod Compatibility:

This update might break some mod functionality in the immediate future. But we've been in contact with some members from the modding community to help smooth the way for a quick fix to any potential problems. There will need to be an update to the Mod Manager in order to re-load any mods, which will hopefully be available soon.

Controller Support Added!

2 NOV 2018

Newest update to Into the Breach brings full controller support! Play with any Steam supported gamepad with the UI designed with controllers in mind.

Just plug in your controller and press any button when the game is running to switch to controller mode.

Note: If you've already been using a custom Steam Controller configuration to play, you'll to switch to the Gamepad configuration in order for the right UI to swap out.

Into the Breach on Mac!

9 AGO 2018

Into the Breach is now available on Mac! To celebrate, the game is 20% off until August 13th for everyone (Windows and Mac).

The Linux version is in active development but we don't currently have an ETA, thank you for being patient in the meantime.

Until March 6th - Everyone who purchases Into the Breach on Steam will also receive a copy of FTL: Faster Than Light

This applies to all new purchases and is retroactive for anyone who has already purchased the game on Steam.

If you do not own FTL yet - it should appear in your Library automatically.
If you already own FTL - a gift copy should appear in your Inventory.

It will take a little while for the game to go out to everyone who has already purchased Into the Breach, so please be patient.
