Highest highs and lowest lows. I desperately want to talk about it, but I'll keep my review without spoilers. This game has some properly memorable moments, as well as a bunch of slow fluff and some truly woeful mascots. If the Monokubs are talking, skip forwards, you'll miss nothing.

I dropped off this a few times, partly because time is precious and this series doesn't respect that. Played case 1 in July 23, case 2 in Aug 23, case 3/4 in Nov 24, and the rest in Jan 25. Case 2 especially is a real low point, being completely overengineered as a mystery, while also suffering from losing 2 great characters and spending hours with mopey good-for-nothing. It's not a coincidence that I thought I dropped it for good, and came back over a year later - and I'd heard the game ending would be bad.

The middle of the game picks up with mysteries that are solveable and fun, definitely on the better end.

The ending is my favourite, just bonkers. My expectations were low as DR2 completely destroyed any suspension of disbelief in whatever overarching narrative there may be, and I'd read opinions for V3. But for me, this was more believable and absolutely audacious, a proper highlight I'll remember.

its pretty good, just wish it didn't stray too much from the story of 1 and 2

I MAY be into visual novels from now as on one hand most of them are either boring or cliche or depend on a deus ex machina or you can figure out everything every single thing since the begining and you notice those games only unncessarily enlong the gameplay (which is usually press one or two buttons and picking 2 to 3 choices)

Hooooweveeeer, the entire Danganronpa franchise (plus the anime) made me actually enjoy these genre as it has the three main games a mix up 3 of my favourite things: detective and criminal cases, actual immeserive and dinamic gameplay, aaand outstanding music (v3 beat the its formers games imo (best ost, characters as Kokichi is the goat and he is just one of the best characters in the entire franchise, even far way better than cringe Nagito and even more new mechanics such as debate scrum)) . There are still other dimensions that let me enjoy about this specific game and the ones I like playing (such as great and thorough lore, which DGR2 beats). Still, the former 3 aspects are reason enough to give try the three games.

Asuming that you finished Happy Trigger Havoc, Goodbye Despair and Danganronpa 3(zetsubou, future and hope arcs), I strongly recommend that you look for every single deatil as soon as soon as you start the game (even from the main menu, hell no, since the steam store site) as you are going to get either VERY dissapointed or confused in the ending or may try to look for new endings. Besides the main point that the murders never stop and you have to think about most of the details that you can either investigate by yourself or by talking to other peple who also have their own investigation and conclussions. Conclussions that you can either counter against or agree with during the trial, there are just a lot of aspects outside the trials and before the murders that you have to

Although a lot of people did hate the ending (which can be understandable as there are some flaws), I did like it, it really tells you why this is the last danganronpa game in one way or another, thing is that people prefer to (or just want to) understand the worst way although it is very elaborated. And yeah it makes sense that until now there is still debate about it as there are many ways to understand it. To make a long story and debate short, just try to check every detail or whatever you believe is important even before starting the game.
