It's been released for 8 years and the last update was 6 years ago. Is this one of those perpetual beta releases?

Most people would obviously tell you that TFE and TSE are the best Sam games, but which one is better? I’d personally go with TFE, since the game has better flow and feels more coherent on top of having a much better final boss. The level design and fights in TFE are generally better imo, since the level layouts are more varied and it feels like every aspect of them was put there because it serves a purpose. Fights are also better choreographed and more challenging. TSE is great too, and has many obvious...

Even despite all the bugs it still has to this day.

They announced that they’ve stopped using Serious Engine since there’s no one left who knows how it works. Because of that they since moved to Unreal Engine 5. But that means that Fusion is forever trapped in beta. Sad.
