I can launch the game and start a new game but every time I do the screen goes black and none of the keys do anything.

Never thought I'd get this far, but now I am stuck. I can't time either jump. I got through ONE of the initial jumps ONCE in a hundred tries. What's the deal here? Has anyone in the world legit completed this game? :)
