Absolutely worth the price, it is hard to figure it our by yourself at the beginning, but I recommend that you find some friends that want to play, and it is literally one of the best games I have ever played. 470 hours in this game and the expansions always keep it fresh. Highly recommend anyone to get and play this game.

This DLC is great by Paradox standards. Paradox fanboys can stop reading now.

So Paradox merged the 3 oldest DLC with the game under the excuse of making the game easier to get in to for new players, but oddly enough the first DLC after the merge, overhauled Germany.

The DLC is garbage. A pretty simple mechanic locked behind a paywall that only is fully utilized by 2 countries. US, UK, RUS, and FRA have NO focuses that meaningfully utilize this new mechanic, excluding focuses like the Nuclear 200% bonuses now instead giving a 50% breakthrough on Nuclear Research. To be blunt, only buy this once mods start updating for this DLC. The new Germany tree is still severely lacking compared to many mods like World Ablaze and Total War. The other focus trees are laughable with their primarily 70 day focuses.

This DLC is far worse from the power creep though. At this point, the only "playable" countries are now only Russia, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, and Germany. With how the mods are in this game, the best way I can describe it is permanant early access. Each DLC, the countries of last DLC become irrelevant and outdated. It is horrible and Paradox clearly hasn't learned that you can update the focus trees over time to include the new mechanics.



I'm honestly really tilted so I'll also say this. "I’ve chosen to include the FN FAL as the final tier of Belgian Small Arms. So why is this weapon, widely adopted in the 1950s by NATO forces, in a WW2 game? I sincerely believe that had Belgium not capitulated, then between Saive’s exceptional weapon design capabilities, his very close collaboration with John Browning and access to the German Sturmgewehr 44 that Belgium would have developed their own assault rifle in the latter years of the war." Does Paradox even do the bare minimum when it comes to research... I looked at Wikipedia for 5 minutes because I was curious to how old the FN FAL was and I instead learned how stupid this decision was.

The FN FAL is a battle rifle, not an assault rifle. The FN FAL entered service in 1953. He claims that Saive would've developed a battle rifle sooner had Belgium not capitulated... but he literally did... The FN Model 1949 was designed in 1947 and adopted the following year (yes the name and dates are right). This was the predecessor to the FN FAL. It took me 5 minutes of research to find this out, yet the Paradox Dev who made this decision bold decision to include it into the game did so because of their feelings rather than facts without any minimal research. It genuinely partially ruins my immersion to see the FN FAL in the research tree and also ticks me off because for years modders have used the icon for the FN Model 1949 in various mods. I believe even EAW uses the icon.

Sorry about the ramble, I'm insanely titled. Paradox needs new leadership, preferably one with a half functioning brain or more.
