🎮 Update 0.9 - The Blockipedia Update

Hey Stackflow players! Version 0.9 is here with exciting new features and important fixes! This update we're introducing a couple of bug fixes and mainly the Blockipedia (check the GIF below!).

✨ New Features

📖 Blockipedia Screen - Discover and catalog all the blocks you've encountered! Track your collection progress and learn more about each block type.
👁️ Perk Visibility - You can now see your active perks directly on the Block Selection screen. No more guessing what buffs you have!
🏆 New Achievements - Unlock new achievements while having fun discovering new blocks!

🐛 Bug Fixes

⏩ Fixed: Skip button becoming disabled when pressed before transition ends on Block/Perk Selection screens.
⌛ Fixed: Speedrun timer not stopping correctly on Level 21 (now properly stops and resumes when pressing Continue).
🔥 Fixed: Fire Mage creating another falling piece when blocks got destroyed by their fireballs.

👺 Update 0.8 - New Bosses, Full Clear Perk & Speedrun Timer ✨

✨ New Content

🌟 New perk called Full Clear: Clearing all the Board will multiply Stack and Flow by x3
🎯 A new boss named The Perfectionist: A demanding foe that punishes inefficiency - clearing LESS than four Rows multiplies your Stack by 0.5x
🌑 Another boss called The Eclipse: Test your memory in the shadows - you can't see the Piece you're holding, Next Piece, or how many Pieces you have left on your Deck

🔧 Improvements

🎮 Dynamic button hints: Button prompts now automatically switch between keyboard and gamepad based on your last input
⏱️ Speedrun timer: New optional speedrun timer for competitive players
⬇️ Lock-delay now counts even when you're not pressing the soft-drop key (0.5 seconds whenever an input is pressed)
🎨 Fixed text coloring for [points:1-4] display

⚙️ Update 0.7: A better rotation system, UI changes and overall QoL! ✨

Hey everyone! 👋

Update 0.7 is here with a massive wave of improvements, balance changes, and critical bug fixes. We've been hard at work refining the experience based on your feedback!

🎮 Major Improvements

UI & Visual Updates 🎨

"Points" renamed to "Stack"
"Multiplier" renamed to "Flow"

Control Enhancements ⌨️

Added 180-degree rotation keybindings for advanced techniques (default key is A, but you can rebind it!)
New "Reset Keybindings" button to restore default controls

Gameplay Feel Improvements 🎯

Delay time added for instant placement (hard-drop) - more forgiving timing when pieces land
Increased time window for placing pieces after landing on the ground
New setting: Soft Drop Speed customization
Settings now increment by 0.01 instead of 0.05 for finer control

🔄 Balance Changes

Uranium reworked: Increased activation time (from 3s to 5s) and boosted points to make it more strategic and rewarding (+10 Stack)
Granite nerfed: 2x Stack but it multiplies your Flow by 0.75x!
Fire Mage buffed: Two fireballs and each gives +5 Flow per blocks destroyed

🐛 Critical Bug Fixes

FIXED: Rotation system completely broken - Rotation system now works properly!
FIXED: Game crashes when restarting when you run out of pieces

⌨️ Early Access Update 0.5 - Controls & Content! 🎮

Hey everyone! 👋

This update is packed with quality-of-life improvements and new content. We've been listening to your feedback, and some of the most requested features are finally here!

🎯 What's New

Keyboard Remapping! ⌨️✨

This was BY FAR our most requested feature - you can now fully customize your keyboard controls! Head to the settings menu and map keys however you like. Make the game truly yours!

Input Customization ⚙️

For those who wanted more precise control over inputs, we've added:

Input Repeat Rate - Adjust how fast inputs repeat when holding a key
Input Repeat Delay - Control the initial delay before inputs start repeating

New Blocks! 🧱

A list of the exciting additions:

Fire Mage - Bring the heat to your runs! 🔥
Skeleton - Rattle some bones! 💀
Slime has been moved from the "Magical" group to the "Monster" group (it just makes more sense thematically!)

Eagle-eyed players might notice a new Achievements button on the main menu! It's locked in the demo for now, but we're laying the groundwork for the full release. Stay tuned!

🎮 Major Update: SRS System Implementation! 🔄

Hey everyone! 👋

We've heard you loud and clear - the Super Rotation System is finally here! This has been one of our most requested features, and we're excited to roll it out to all of you.

🎯 What's New

Super Rotation System (SRS) ✨
The game now uses the official SRS rotation mechanics! I'll be honest - I'm not the most experienced block-stacking player myself, but we spent a lot of time on it to make sure we got this right. The rotation system now includes:

Proper piece rotation with accurate kick tables
Wall kicks and floor kicks that follow official SRS specifications
I-piece, T-piece, and all standard piece rotations working as expected
Smoother gameplay that matches what competitive players are used to

This should make the game feel much more intuitive for veterans of the genre while keeping all the roguelike goodness! 🎲✨

🎯 New Block Groups System - Blocks are now organized into themed groups for better strategy planning:

💣 Explosives Group - Bomb, C4, and Detonator for maximum destruction
🐝 Colony Group - Queen Bee, Worker Bee, Honey, and Hive that work better together
✨ Arcane Group - Mimic, Slime, Bookshelf, and Arcanist with magical properties

We’re back with another big update, and this one is packed with epic boss challenges, spicy new rules, and important fixes that make the game feel smoother than ever. Let’s dive in! 🚀

🆕 What’s New?

👑 Boss Battles – Every third level you’ll face a boss with a unique rule that changes how you play. Think you can handle:
• The Dizzy – Your blocks keep spinning randomly 🌀
• The Thief – No more Hold for you! 🕵️
🎲 Limited Rolls – Strategy matters! You now get 5 rolls per run. Use them wisely.

🛠️ Fixes & Improvements

⬇️ Block Fall Fix – Blocks now fall correctly, filling empty spaces without leaving awkward gaps.
💣 Dynamite & Obsidian Fix – These tricky blocks no longer leave empty spots behind. Clean destruction, clean gameplay.
🧩 Game Over Bug Squashed – The game will no longer end before you’ve used all your blocks.

🔄 Counter-clockwise rotation - Now you can rotate pieces both ways! Use Z or Q on keyboard, or the bumpers on your controller
🎮 Full controller support - Complete gamepad integration for the ultimate couch gaming experience
🧱 New blocks - Welcome the Brick and Iron blocks.
⌨️ Keyboard-only gameplay - Play the entire game using just your keyboard - no mouse required!
✨ Interactive tutorial - First-time players now get a guided introduction to master the basics
➕ +3 Levels - You definitely need to do a lot of points on those!
🔥 Ramped up difficulty - Levels are significantly more challenging - think you can handle it?
💎 Obsidian block rebalance - Now gets destroyed after 3 activations (previously unlimited) for better game balance
💡 Block tooltips - Hover your mouse over blocks to see exactly what they do - no more guessing!
