Direct Possession

Dragging Possession

• Activated during high-stress moments, with the ghost disorienting and dragging players across the map.
  
• Involves QTEs to resist being dragged; failure scatters the player’s equipment and depletes a life.

Survival Mechanics

Previously, players had no chance of survival upon encountering ghost, resulting in complete progress resets upon death. With this update, players are now provided with three lives. Successfully completing possession events is crucial for survival. Players must strategize and manage their lives to avoid haunted down.

New Feature: In-Game Tutorial

In response to feedback and data from previous patches, we’ve identified that many players were unclear about key gameplay mechanics, which hindered their progress and understanding of Cursed Hour. To address this, we’ve introduced a comprehensive Tutorial Mode that guides players through essential gameplay elements, ensuring a smoother and more intuitive experience.

Control Explanation:

Players are introduced to the basic controls right from the start, allowing them to get familiar with movement, camera control, and interaction prompts.

The tutorial will briefly walk through how to navigate the eerie mansion and interact with objects like doors, levers, and items in the environment.

Relic Mechanics:

The tutorial now explicitly explains how relics work, their importance in the exorcism ritual, and how they can be used strategically.

Players will learn how to identify cursed relics and understand the consequences of interacting with them, including how some relics increase the risk of possession or trigger hauntings.

Gadget Usage:

A section of the tutorial introduces the various gadgets available to players, including their purpose and effective usage.

Players will get hands-on practice with tools like the spiritual scanner, flashlight, and spirit traps, each with detailed instructions on when and how to deploy them during encounters with the White Mother Ghost.

Quick Time Events (QTEs):

To prepare players for the tense moments during possession and paranormal encounters, we’ve included QTE training.

The tutorial guides players through basic QTEs, explaining the mechanics and consequences of failing them, such as losing life and triggering possession.

Map Update Summary:

The recent map update focused on improving the overall visual experience and addressing some key issues with the environment. The primary reason for this update was that the environment was too dark, which impacted the overall mood and aesthetic of the game. Additionally, certain areas did not meet the expected quality standards. As a result, various parts of the map were revamped to align with the desired atmosphere and expectations. This update also included an overhaul of the assets and textures, significantly improving their quality to ensure a more immersive and visually appealing experience.
