A beautiful game filled with a gentle denial and a strong emotional relief, and a lot of metaphors to find throughout the game. The beach itself has a profound meaning, but this episode has managed to densify a meaningful story in a short amount of time.

You experience a day with a group of friends and share emotional intimacy and more importantly, memories.

Following the same principle as the first iteration of the game, you will encounter some fun minigames and a sense of hedonistic touch. It is nicely done and not excessive by any means.

The game acts implicitly as a mental pause in comparison to To The Moon. The beach symbolizes the frontier between the past and the future, between reminiscences and the present, and between what hurts and what we accept. And more importantly: it is supposed to be a "filler". That's a direct metaphor to life itself: everything doesn't need a strong narrative to have value. There's also an implicit touch of a specific philosophy found multiple times in the game, which is the amor fati.

If you’re open to a quiet, emotional pause, this episode shines.
It only lasted a few hours, but it's going to stay with me far longer than I expected.

I didn’t watch the trailer, so I expected just a simple episode. Turns out it was a complete prank on me, and now here I am, crying my eyes out over that bittersweet finale. Kan Gao and his team are absolute geniuses.
