It's not really an incremental/upgrade game. The game has predefined builds that you need to change to every time you pass certain milestones. Every time you pass a certain milestone, you respec so you can make the new build. There's no room for creativity in the builds. Perfectly building what the developer wants you to build grants you slow progression through the game.

The game is quite enjoyable. While the content is finite, there’s just enough variety and unlocks to hold your attention for a while. It also encourages you to adapt to different builds when you inevitably hit a wall - what the idle genre fittingly calls "a wall" (I chuckled at that).

Gameplay-wise, you take on the role of an evil lich with access to different builds, each utilizing distinct mechanics inspired by classic villainous tropes. The game features a lighthearted, not-so-serious story and frustrating (but engaging) wall modifiers that you must overcome. I managed to reach NG+3 in about 16 hours, but the game continues beyond that, with each New Game Plus iteration adding difficulty in a way that feels more like solving a logic puzzle than just a simple stat grind.

Comparing this game’s content to projects that have been in development for 10 or 20 years would be unfair. It was released recently, and the developer is actively improving it, listening to feedback, and genuinely caring for the game.

I recommend it.
