Changes are being backported to DoomRL, so it's a little baffling what incentive I have to buy this other than altruism. Will that backporting eventually dry up? Not that I want it to, just can't see another scenario where I would buy this.

Just played both DRL and some of the demo and it has me really wanting the full thing. Any news on when this is going to drop?

DRL is one of those roguelikes which look like they would fit mobile controls perfectly. Moreover, it's quick enough for pick up and play. I think Android version would be amazing. Would gladly pay money for it.
