Or is it more about unlocking and the game is endless?

Has anyone been able to beat all the 99 waves without using Mr. Shock Lightning Ally X + Critical VII ? (Game build 1.2.2) I've tried Doctor Lightning Ally X + Curse Ally X + Lightning Curse X + Overload X and was able to only clear 75 waves, the 10% Curse Speed/5 waves isn't enough to beat that enemy health scaling....

Sorry, I really enjoy the game but it takes few hours to max everything and every run is pretty much the same. Any more content coming?

Currently on Wave 30-57; my rat just sits in the middle shooting out rows of fat yellow projectiles at different angles and nobody can get near him. So it seems I've discovered some sort of perpetual-motion self-playing mode and I could just leave it for years and eventually collect millions of cheese, right? Am I missing something? I see messages on here about Wave 99, but how does one get there if the game just stays on 30? I'm confused....
