They’re cute, they’re cheerful, they don’t seem very smart… The Dumbinos are finally joining the scene! Equipped with special abilities and determined to use any means necessary to make their peers fall, these surprising dominoes come to offer a whole arsenal of possibilities to overcome the levels. Hit, explode, suck, jump… this new dose of fantasy will join the new demo very soon!
As the new Dumbino content arrives with the appearance of the next world, our magic hand is also evolving to offer you greater freedom of action. Thus, your next games will allow you to discover our brand new radial menu, which will allow you to make all the objects of your choice (or almost) appear on the game table, to imagine solutions, each crazier than the last! Come on, it's still a prototype, but we're sure you'll know how to make good use of it 🎉
Yes, there is no stopping it, the level editor continues its evolution to offer you a finer manipulation of values ​​thanks to the inspector, but also a system for saving and loading your levels. Sharing your masterpieces is now as simple as sending a file: we can't wait to see what you'll do with them!
September is going to be a month of significant growth for Dumbino. In addition to the various tweaks we're going to make to the game to make it even more enjoyable to use, it's also and above all the right time to add as much content as possible to the game! New levels, new worlds, new mechanics, new bugs... Ah, I'm being told in my earpiece that this last point wasn't necessary. Stay alert, Dumbino is about to reveal its true colors!

Hello everyone, it's Argann, and a lot has happened since the last time! Demo release, community updates, game development progress, new trailer... It looks like we have a lot to talk about! 🤔 Put on your best floral shirt, stay zen, and let's dive in!


Last week, we released the first official demo version of Dumbino! It was a bit stressful and a lot of work, but we're super proud of it. Several streamers even played it, and we finally got to see you wrack your brains and have fun with the levels carefully designed by François. It really warmed our hearts, especially since you seemed to really enjoy the game! So, a big thank you to:

Previously, we've talked a lot about the "level editor" we're developing. You might think that with the demo release, not much progress has been made... 

Well, it's quite the opposite: it's progressing super fast! 

Thanks to our hard work, especially by Étienne, we now have a first version of the editor with all the basic interactions we wanted. Let's take a little tour! 

At the bottom of the screen, you'll find the library, which groups all the game objects into different categories.

With a single click, you can easily place dominos, goals, and even multiple starting points!

Manipulating already placed objects is also very easy! You can select one or multiple objects, move them, rotate them, resize them, or even duplicate them with a snap of your fingers. 

Making complex levels becomes child's play!

And of course, all these actions can be undone if needed, so don’t be afraid to experiment!


While some will be taking well-deserved vacations, we'll use the coming weeks to continue improving Dumbino! 

For the level editor, François will revisit each screen to make everything look a bit nicer, and we'll try to polish all existing interactions. 

My goal will be to connect everything to the level system I've already developed so that created levels can be saved, loaded, and played. 

And for the "official" levels, you can bet we still have a lot of surprises in store for you!

This is the Sweet Dreams Studio team, François, Argann, and Etienne! We're a bunch of French indie devs, and today we have a fair share of exciting news to share with you! We've just reached a big milestone by launching our Steam page, thanks to all the feedback from our community that helped us make the logo and the key art. Now that our Steam page is up, we have a demo live that you can try right now! We've been hard at work to make it with all the additions and improvements that you suggested during the playtests we held.

Because a lot of things happened under the hood before the Steam page, here's a recap of our latest adventures and upcoming features!


In our first devblog, we announced the opening of our Itch.io page for Dumbino. This has allowed us to share game versions more easily without the hassle of worrying about expired links. We also launched the playtest of version 0.2.0-alpha, available for free on Windows. This playtest helped us gather valuable feedback thanks to your participation and comments through our feedback form. Thank you to everyone who took the time to test and share your impressions!


We've been burning the midnight oil on the level editor, a very important feature to us that will let you create your own unique puzzles and constructions to challenge others! Although it is still in development, we can't wait to show you more!

On the art direction side, François, our "Supreme Artistic Director" (yes, it's a real title), shared the first illustrations of Dumbino. Many of you participated in the survey and chose your favorite illustration. Thank you for your valuable input; we took all precious suggestions and ideas into account to refine the visual identity of our game.


We paused the development of the level editor to focus on a game demo scheduled for the end of June. We've been adding new content, integrating, and testing various features to make sure that you get to play the best domino-based demo ever!

Another crucial addition is the comprehensive tutorial, designed by Etienne, to help new players easily understand the controls and game mechanics in just two minutes. We hope this will make your experience with the game even smoother. Any feedback on the tutorial is greatly appreciated!


The key art for Dumbino has been finalized thanks to your input, with a yellow background that was favored. We've made good progress quickly in creating new levels and game mechanics. Our goal is to offer a variety of levels, including complex puzzles, absurd levels, and also creative ones! A bit of chaos is always a nice addition to strategy!

We're also working on the decorations to create an immersive child's room atmosphere, with details like comics, marbles, drawings, and crayons. Every detail counts to create this cozy and vivid setting.


We plan to organize more playtests in the future to keep improving Dumbino with your feedback and suggestions. The demo is available with the launch of our Steam page, and that's already a way to let us know your thoughts on the latest playable version of the game! We're incredibly excited about this new step and look forward to gathering even more input to make Dumbino the best game possible.

We're extremely delighted to see the reception of Dumbino once we started showing the game to more people. Our community is growing and we've been receiving genuine and constructive feedback that was critical in our progress. Every comment and suggestion helps us refine Dumbino and make it even more enjoyable to play. We have put all our hearts into this project, and your encouragement motivates us to keep moving forward.
