Alright so the thing about this game is that the enemy count will very quickly reach double - and then triple - your Soul Cap. So, like, are you gonna Portal out twice every level and raise your Soul Tax just to get back the 30 seconds you spent acquiring those Souls? You'll never spend all the Souls you collect this way... #1). Instead of the Time Portal being an instant cast and taking yoyr Souls when you walk through it, what if it demanded its payment beforehand? Like you put a little number hovering over the portal for how many Souls you need? From there, you gotta either shoot you Souls into the Portal (they'll get sucked in if they're close enough so you don't gotta worry about being precise), or kill enemies near it, who'll have their Souls automatically sucked into the Portal. Between their speed and durability, you have to spend a significant chunk of your time and resources just backpedaling away from them and chipping them down. And I mentioned before that I appreciate priority enemies that divert your attention, but similar to the Hands, they feel a bit too obstructive, and they require so much time and attention that I think they can flatten the combat experience into something much more repetitive. I can barely get to variant 15 and one of the achievements wants me to get to variant 50? I might never get that one, or the 20 variant achievement. The gadget only run is okay its hard but not impossible
