Ability to Skip a Puzzle?

After doing all the twin room puzzles, I go back to the central room and the three large hex pieces I got fall into place in the contraption in front of the locked door. I need to rotate the hex pieces to match the direction of the smaller pieces above. I cannot do it fast enough after trying multiple times. I watched the accompanying video in the guides section, but these old eyes and hands are no longer quick enough to keep up with the red bar sliding from left to right. Bug in the Spaceship

Under one of the 4 angled pillars you can get completely stuck. You can't move, reset your place or anything. Could the dev smooth it out or create an Unstuck command that puts you at the starting room?

What am I doing wrong...

I don't seem to have any actionable items in the first room. Am I doing something wrong? I can't seem to click or move anything, nothing seems to be moveable or pushable. I went into the controls and there doesn't seem to be anything for action either, like LMB/RMB or E for the keyboard, or X, A or B for the xbox controller. Am I totally missing the boat entirely? Really looking forward to diving into this game!...

Final Choice

I've reached the point before the finish of game in which I have to select 1 of 2 choices. How do I save the game after 1st choice is completed so I can come back an select second choice on another day.
