Unbelievable! After years of begging from the community, we finally got Valkyrie on Steam. There is not much to say about this game. It's gameplay is rather unique. You have OG Ascension to the throne, you have Valkyrie... and that's kinda it. No more games like this. Maybe partially King's Bouty 2 as well, but not that much.

As to the rest - the same setting, the same story, the same gameplay, the same characters, BUT - different perspective. This time you will uncover the rest of this story as a buxom valkyrie Eneya. Thus, if you didn't play OG Ascension to the the throne as Alexander - do it right now. And come back to Valkyrie afterwards.

As to the current state of the game - it works rather good on modern hardware. Launched it without any additional steps. So far works almost without problems. Yeah, unfortunately almost. Got 2000+ fps in the main menu, but this is manageable, since I solved this issues via Nvidia panel.

What I could not solve so far - audio issues. Music in this game is fascinating, but unfortunately, in this version tracks constantly abruptly end, overlap, loop and just causing a headache as a result. I will check this game on older hardware and OS as well just in case, but obviously a patch is needed to fix this annoyanse. Anyway, the main step was made with the release, so I hope that the hotfix is on the way.

After years of begging we finally got the release on Steam and it did not disappoint. This expansion has provided a new outlook on the story of the main game and providing a new challenge. The enemy stacks have actually provided a challenge and required switching up strategy and formations to beat some of the battles available. It didn't feel like the power fantasy that Alexander's journey quickly turns into.

Eneya running faster than Alexander was a big plus even with the Teleport spell being attainable. Of course, walking everywhere was not a bother at all in this expansion with Eneya as the MC.

12 hours well spent, perfect for a quick weekend playthrough.

I am playing this on Windows 11 without any issue (already have Nvidia legacy drivers installed, hence don't know if they are required or not). Camera placement is good and graphics are nice. Game has no voice acting but music and ambient noises are loud and clear. My issue is that during running scenes Eneya's movements are very fast but i am getting used to it.
