It hits so many good notes with its grounded setting which can also be its main setback: we don't really feel like we're in 2011. It never said it would be "our" 2011 either, it's more like an alternate universe in which, at least in english, Discord already exists (I think one character mentions a "private discord") and there's a distinct lack of 2010 era memes and linguo. There's no use of swag, no awesome face, and I may have seen some 2020 linguo here and there.

It may be because of culture differences, or some things may have been lost to translation. ONE THING however that is really tangible: the MC and their job life. It is pretty relatable, office work has been and still is something that I find alienating, I lose myself inbetween job stuff, my goal in life and things like that, and it is potrayed very well in this game.
