The story starts with a sperm sample! We clearly see what's important right out of the gate. How fertile is our MC?!
The Builder - Season 1, covers chapters 1-5 out of the planned (30), and tells the story of a man, who has qualified to build a memorial out of wood, simply because of his fantastic sperm count. No background on him, or credentials, no talk of income, just a healthy man who can impregnate the women in a far away village, that is "cursed". Sadly the man took a vow of chastity after the woman he loves left him. Upon being hired by a team of women to start the build, he sets off on the trip north to the village. Once there, temptation is all around. Every woman he comes across, be it a mother, grandmother, or their teen daughters, none can stop themselves from wanting him. Therefore his vow of chastity doesn't last long and is taken away by a pregnant Pam (best girl in my opinion), well at least the one that's best rendered. Pam and her niece are also visitors, but decide to stay so that the MC can teach Pam what feelings are. Eventually we find ourselves in one ♥♥♥♥♥♥ encounter after another, completely random, like watching Liz (priest's daughter) fall out of her window, and having a casual fisting session with us. To her mom sucking you off while her husband encourages her. That's when the game decides to remind us about the build, right in the end we spend less than a chapter digging, finding skeletons and that's it for the build. Back to the hotel, where the woman you love shows up, pregnant and along comes Pam for a nice threesome to wrap up season 1.

The gameplay offers a variety of choices, to define our characteristics for which we earn points into: karma, perv, or confidence. Honestly none of them seem to have any real impact, aside from one scene in the early game tied to an achievement. So feel free to choose anything you like. Later down the line the choices you make will depend on seeing a certain type of scene and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ encounter, or avoiding it.
Other than that, the game flow is pretty straight forward, almost kinetic. Just how many women do you want to sleep with? Some things of note would be: currently if you miss an achievement and attempt to load an old save, or start a new playthrough, achievements can reset on you. They aren't hard to obtain, as their descriptions are readily available, just keep that in mind.
It also seems that the developer chose to use real life images for the backgrounds in the game, thus giving it an "odd" look to say the least. The realism compared to the 3D renders looks odd, however that's the developer's choice and so be it. The renders themselves are not great, not by a long shot, especially in the beginning, when helping the damsel in the toilet, her render is of poor quality. Then at the auditorium, you can clearly see a person photoshopped in. These small things add up, and lead up to the eventual animations, which are simple, just a few frames, rendered in a loop, very choppy, not long and sadly disappointing. The best renders I've seen here are of Pam, if the rest of the game were to be of the same quality, it would improve it greatly.
Last of all the gallery is available at the end of the game. Make sure to make a save there, should you wish to re-watch the scenes.

The conclusion we can draw from this game, is that it doesn't compare to the current standards of the avn's we're used to. That being said, this like many other works is done by a solo developer, with his own unique ideas of how he wants to present this visual novel.
However, the odds are not in the favor of The Builder - Season 1. The renders are of poor quality. The animations are not smooth, just very basic and ones you'd see years ago in old games. The pacing of the story is not good. We go from being an unknown MC with no past, to sleeping with everyone based on a one time interaction with them. After having ♥♥♥♥♥♥ encounters with a few women the game realizes, we got a build to work on and then that's cut short by the skeletons that are uncovered. It's clear that no one cares about the build and really wants the MC just to make the whole town pregnant, but the way it's portrayed and played out is just so monotone and mundane.
Top it off, season 1 covers chapters 1-5, a playtime of 2 hours, with a price tag of $13.99, and the developer is planning 30 chapters, thus 6 seasons. If we do the math then the price of The Builder (complete 30 chapters) will come out to: $83.94.
Sadly I cannot recommend this game, for the above reasons: renders, animations, story and price.

Score: 5/10!

Overall, I give Season 1 a score of "5" from a scale of 1-10 and Season 2 a score of "2".
Pros:
1. The artwork of the Norwegian fjords and atmosphere is nice.
2. A few of the women are really nicely done as well as the "key" scene in Season 1.
3. There are a number of ages, bodytypes, and various heritages represented.
Cons:
1. Choice really don't matter much and even less in Season 2 and dialog does not always match choices made earlier.
2. I will grant that the story is fairly original, but that does not make it a good story, also there is little character development.
3. There are a few grammar errors, published stories or games should be perfect in this regard.
4. Season 1 felt like a complete waste of time once I got to Season 2 for me, as you cannot choose relationships, thus I was often stuck with bodytypes I would wish nothing to do with.
5. The seasons are 2-4 hourrs and are therefor not worth the regular price in my opinion.
6. Animations are not smooth and often jerky.
If you are looking for good AVNs on Steam, I recommend: Acting Lessons, City of Broken Dreamers, Depraved Awakening, Leap of Faith, and Sistery Lust.

I played The Builder - Season 1 without knowing what I'd find in it, and it turned out to be a pleasant experience. It puts you in the shoes of a builder named Knut Bell, who gets recruited to build a memorial in a town in the middle of nowhere, unaware that the townsmen are sterile and all the townswomen are longing for a manly man to put a baby inside them with his big, burly ♥♥♥♥. However, the protagonist swore off having ♥♥♥ with other women after the love of his life dropped him to start a relationship with an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that gets under his skin at every chance he has.

As you may expect from it being the first season, the game focuses more on introducing the many characters in the game and their interactions with the protagonist, be it them spending quality time with him or throwing themselves at him as soon as they say Hi. It also features multiple choices that increase three different stats depending on your picks: Karma if you do a good action, Perv if you're open to exploring new kinks, and Confidence, which is self-explanatory. And what is that for? Well, it unlocks the gallery if the total value is high enough, which is doable.

The game's graphics are eye-catching and refreshing as it features pretty renders with a good variety of body types, such as petite women with small perky ♥♥♥♥, busty MILFs with saggy boobs, women of different ethnicities, women that are well... "way past their prime", and more. Moreover, all the scenes are animated, though their quality ranges from smooth and fluid to looking like a frame or two is missing.

So yeah, the first season of The Builder is worth a shot, even if it takes about two hours to complete, as it's an entertaining and visually pleasing AVN that you can play in short bursts or finish in one go. However, you may want to wait for a sale before purchasing it if its short length is an issue for you.
