We were so inspired by some of your deck designs that we really wanted to add NEW DISPLAY BLOCKS!! Display blocks match normal blocks with a little extra flair and also let you place mini lamps or your favorite items on top. And since we were working on blocks, we also wanted to give every decoration set a block of it's own. So now no matter which decorative style you choose, you can get creative with these new matching blocks.

Another fun changes for this update was a tuning pass at the bulletin missions. We mainly focused on the bulletins that request items and our aim was to make the requests smarter, reduce some of the amounts, award more credits, and clean up a few bad loops. We're pretty happy with this new balance, so we hope the missions feel even more rewarding for your hard work!

As usual, there are also a bunch of small notes from controls, prompts, and support related requested from all of you. Check out the complete patch notes below if you like!

Improvements

1. New Blocks!: New block decorations available. One unique piece for each furniture set now. Some crafted in the workbench, and some purchased through 3Dee Bot.
   
2. New Display Blocks!: A new decoration type called Display Blocks. These new types of blocks are in the theme of their basic block counterparts, but can display an item on top. Great for table lamps, item displays, outer hull, or more elaborate decoration setups.
   
3. Tuning Tables: Reducing the cost values for end tables, coffee tables, and square tables. These changes are to keep in-line with the newly created and cheaper display blocks.
   
4. Table Descriptions: Table decorations now say how many items they can display.
   
5. Bulletin Board Smarter Item Requests: Adjusted some additional restrictions against the items picked for a bulletin depending on game progress. E.g. Xeno items only requested after that Xeno type has hatched, kitchen recipes after kitchen built, etc.
   
6. Bulletin Board Tuning: Added a minimum amount of credits for items that are worth 0.
   
7. Bulletin Board Tuning: Increased delivery pay and scales slightly based on amount requested.
   
8. Bulletin Board Tuning: Adjusted the amounts of some items requested. Mostly reduced amounts being asked for to make them more achievable in limited time.
   
9. Mod Support for Localization: Adding in better support for language selection by giving languages a unique ID, a fallback system to English if another language is selected, and resetting player preferences if the language in the preference is not supported by the base game.
   
10. Disable Inventory Hot Bar Scrolling: Added a disable button to the settings rebind menu to allow the mouse scroll wheel to be disabled for inventory hot bar selection. If using trackpad, it is too sensitive and often accidentally selects an unwanted inventory slot and disrupts combat.
    
11. Rotate Furniture Prompts/Tips: Added an input hint when using gamepad if a decoration can be rotated or flipped. Also added a control tip in the rebind control tips menu explaining how to rotate furniture for keyboard and mouse users.

Bug Fixes

1. Auto-Stack Fix: Cleaning up auto-stack functions when multiple gamepad buttons or hot keys are pressed at the time of using it.
   
2. Amoeba: This microbe should have a wavy line in mini game. Fixed.
   
3. Added missing dialogue: Adding missing active dialogue for Fiji's Hatch a Xeno mission.
   
4. Input Icon Missing: When switching from mouse to gamepad, if a buildable item was equipped, the R stick icon was missing until refreshed. Fixed.
   
5. Spouse Behind Cryogen Tubes: The spouse was incorrectly appearing behind the cryogen tubes when they are also in the captain quarters.
   
6. Door Locks: Adding additional logic when quests lock and unlock doors so doors can't get stuck locked when quests are done in an unconventional order.
   
7. Calendar Refresh: Checks for a calendar refresh when individual events are added as well as before the menu is opened. Fixes warning with conflicting events for previous month.
   
8. Text JSON Pairs: Connecting JSON text for display settings, load/save, and day of the week in game.
   
9. Text Adjustments: Grammar and continuity clean-up. (Creeps Zapped achievement, Shinji’s Space Racer in tool tips.)

This update was all about clearing a stack of small and some tricky bugs we needed to spend a little time on to get polished up. We also had to clean up a few things we missed from our recent updates including rolling out the 24-hour clock format to all dialogues, store hours, and map tooltips.

With some of these tricker bugs taking us a little time to reproduce and resolve, we didn't have a ton of time for new features this round. (That is the fun part for us too. :( ) BUT... we did get to add a stats summary page to your tally menu in the Captain's tab to make achievement tracking much easier. The complete patch notes are listed below if interested.

Finally, just a reminder that if your feedback note or suggestion has not made it in an update yet, just know we're still actively working on the notes. There are a lot of good ideas on our list from all of you.

1. New Summary Stats: Added a new tally category that can be found within Captain > Tally > Summary. This new category will display gameplay stats like missions complete, credits earned, enemies zapped, etc. (NOTE: These stats can be used to check your progress on the Sharp Shooter, Master Blaster, and Freelancer achievements.)

3. Eating SFX Bug: Sometimes when button pressing very fast the SFX could loop after eating. Fixed.
   
4. Spaceboard Bug: Spaceboard could sometimes be tricky to click and pick up when left on the empty vehicle pads. This is fixed now.
   
5. Spaceboard Bug: A greyed-out tooltip hand would appear in the previous place your spaceboard was placed, even after moving it to a new location.
   
6. Path Placement Bug: Fixed bug that a decorative path could be placed under the Workbench Storage Bin and Refrigerator.
   
7. Gamepad Menu Nav: Adjusted button selection when navigating to right from Auto-Stack button.
   
8. Settings Text: The Display Resolution menu mistakenly had the label "Language". Fixed.
   
9. Menu During Transition: If the Space Pack icon was clicked at just at the wrong time during scene transition, the Space Pack menu could stay open during scene transition. Fixed.

Now up, a pass at tuning some of the early exploration Grey Planet levels and a few changes to how teleporters appear. We hope with some of these exploration changes the game will feel a little more rewarding for casual play. BUT, you still will have to eat some of your crops or foraged items sometimes to make it to checkpoints. We know... it's so hard to choose which ones!!!

Some of the QoL suggestions also made it in this round too, including.... the crew locator is now also available in the missions menu, a wardrobe in the salon to customize your captain after purchases, and recipes in the kitchen have a 'New Recipe' tag to show you which ones you have not prepared yet to make the "Culinary Genius" achievement easier to accomplish. Even more details on the update are list below per Space Alliance guidelines. (Bonus... the demo was updated, too!)

To test out this new update... there has been a lot of computer plug-pulling and save mistreatment going on over here!!

But it was all worth it, because we are now able to introduce a new backup and restore system in this update. When everything is going well you won't notice a thing, but behind the scenes we will now be backing up your save at different times in the game. In the rare chance you lose power while your game is saving or loading, one of our backups should be able to restore your save to the previous day or previous start of the play session. It is even CPU approved!

The backup system did take a bit of our time, but we couldn't help also adding a few more things too. A much requested auto-stack button in your storage menu to transfer 'like items' from inventory -> storage and vice-versa. Plus a new decoration! A Birthday Calendar you can craft on your workbench. It will display the portrait of anyone with a birthday on the current day and is a shortcut to the calendar. All the changes in the update are listed below. vvv

1. Auto-Stack!!!: Yes! Added the auto-stack feature to storage menus. Now you can one-click transfer all similar items to a storage container if they are already there, and vice versa to your Space Pack inventory. (Little arrow icons.)
   
2. Birthday Calendar: Added new Birthday Calendar craft-able decoration item to workbench. This decorative wall calendar will display a simple reminder on the day of a crewmember's birthday.
   
3. Save/Load Improvements: A more robust save/load system applied, to help reduce likelihood of save corruption occurrences that can happen during sudden external computer crashes or computer loss of power, while saving.
   
4. Save/Load Messaging: An errored save file would in some instances prevent the game from progressing past the first loading screen. This has been accounted for now, and will instead, continue to the main menu and show an appropriate error message.
   
5. Save File Backups & Restore Option: Each save file will now have two additional backup saves on hand in case any save errors do occur. If a save file has errored, you will have the option to select it in your loading menu and restore it to a backup version. (Save01: Data from previous in-game day.) (Save02: Data from start of game session at launch.)
   
6. Feed Repository: Can now hold-click to increase amount of feed to pull from here, instead of only tapping.

Bug Fixes

1. 1900 Gifting: 1900 should be neutral about all fertilizers gifted, not just one. Fixed.
   
2. Solar Panel SFX: The sfx of solar panel being removed in rare cases could get stuck on. Fixed.
   
3. Inaccessible Microbes: Fixed a few microbes from spawning out of reach.
   
4. Bulletin Request: Replaced meteorite request from bulletin board with a different item, because which meteorite wasn't clear.

Yay update day!!

After organizing our feedback notes and requests, we were able to add the ability to change the hot bar inventory row by pressing Tab or Right-Trigger on gamepads. For those of you who use rebinding (especially on gamepad), if you have already used this key for another function, you may have to reset your rebinds or assign a key to this new function.

We also took a wide pass at the times of machine processing. Most machines have had a time reduction, but some will be more noticeable than others. There are more options to choose between faster machines = faster turnaround or slower machines = less daily maintenance. The choice is up to you. Any loaded saves with machines in-progress will be stuck on the old timers until a new item(s) is added to the machine.

On the tuning front, we also adjusted some machine crafting recipes, drop rates, and other things so it's easier to make more machines and reduce some of the pinch points some people mentioned. There are also tons of little changes too, like adding the ability to set your clock to a 24-hour or 12-hour format, dialogue updates, and bug fixes. The patch notes list contains all the changes so don't forget to check it out.

Another week has flown by...

And another update is ready! After talking with many of you, we knew we wanted to address the challenge of the microbe mini-game sooner than later. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the game, so in this update you will find an option in your settings menu to adjust the mini-game to your preference.

The game now has 3 options:

• Standard: The original game with the original speeds for those of you who are enjoying the challenge.
  
  
• Reduced Speeds: A modified version of the game with the timing game slowed down and capped out at a moderate speed for the most difficult microbes. We also removed the variation in speed between pulses to make it a little more predictable.
  
  
• Off: Timing games just not your thing? We understand, so now you can just turn off the timing portion of the mini-game. You still have to scan and hunt for the microbes, but now you can just enjoy collecting them.

In addition to the mini-game options, we were able to reproduce and fix a few tricky bugs with all of your help so thanks for reporting them to us in Discord. You can see the full patch notes list below. As we roll out these updates if your ideas didn't make it in, it doesn't mean we are not still considering it or planning something for a future update. We just have to tackle a few things at a time. <3

For any demo users still trying out the game, we have also just updated the demo. It includes all the speed and tuning adjustments from the launch version, the 1.0.1 update, and this 1.0.2 update.

Hi Everyone,

The first update has landed! We wanted to roll out some tuning notes, bug fixes, and a few QoL things we've seen requested a few times. We hide spoilers when necessary, but heads up, there still might be a few from time to time we miss. Our next goal will be to update the demo with all of the changes as well.

1. Player Energy: Player's default starting energy has been increased. This increase works in addition to any Life Spark energy upgrades you already have acquired.

Bug Fixes

1. Equip Slot Wrong: Fixed issue when dismounting the spaceboard, sometimes the equipped item was incorrect.
   
2. Missing Crop when Picked: Fixed issue when a loose item was being sucked up to the player at the same time a crop was picked, it would prevent the crop from being added to the inventory.
   
3. Overflow Pickups: If an item is getting picked up at the same time as items getting sucked up and the sucked up items take the last inventory slot, the picked-up item will go into the overflow sequence for resolution instead of getting lost.
   
4. Sliding Door Hidden: The automatic sliding door on the Captain's Deck could be seen through the wall if a window was placed below it. Fixed and hidden now.
   
5. Microbe Detection: Fixed a few spots where microbes were located out of reach from player. Science Lab water tubes, doorway of Classroom, Engine Room by Stewart's station, garden bench on Crew Quarters, uniform rack in Engine Room.
   
6. Gamepad Icon: Treasure chests were missing their gamepad button press icons.
   
7. Fertilizer Gifting: Low-Grade Fertilizer, Mixed Fertilizer, and Premium Fertilizer have had their gifting values corrected for NPCs that don't hate them.
   
8. 1900 Gift: Adding a new liked item for I1900
   
9. Cosmo Creep Spawn Anim: Adjusted the scale values on these animations to not be so extreme and flash.
   
10. Increase/Decrease Buttons: Fixed issue when holding the hot bar inventory increase/decrease buttons. Btns were spamming the bar when a menu was open, causing chaos.
    
11. Item Sprite: Fixed Copper Block to correctly say Cu.
    
12. H20 Station: H20 Stations can now be gifted to NPCs like other machines.
    
13. Grammar: Fixing many missing commas, typos, and dialogue preferences as we played through and from you all. Also, thanks to all our beta crew, new players, and a giant help from Sheep on quests!
