A new patch for Pro Cycling Manager 2024 is now available!


Race

• More differences between climbers and non-climbers for better selection in hills, medium mountains, and mountain stages.
  
• Fix: Sometimes mountain stages in the Tour are ridden at a slow pace except for the last few kilometers, resulting in a non-selective stage with low-stat (mountain) riders hanging on and losing little time to leaders/pure climbers.
  
• Fix: About 20 km from the finish of a flat stage, trains often break away from the peloton.
  
• Fix: Hill stages: sometimes leaders' teams didn’t set a sufficient pace approaching the finish.
  
• Fix: During sprints, non-sprinter teammates were occasionally faster than top sprinters.
  
• Fix: Sometimes the first rider to launch a sprint is not followed, with each rider doing their own sprint independently.
  
• Improvement: Better teammate management for leaders on mountain stages (basic teammates were sometimes replaced too soon by top climbers).
  
• Improvement: Teams with a top leader (e.g., Pogi, Vingegaard) now use top puncheurs as domestiques in hilly stages instead of giving them stage-win roles.
  
• Improvement: AI sprinters now start their sprint slightly later.
  
• Improved teammate selection for basic work in early mountain stages for super teams, preserving the best climbers.
  
• Fixes/Improvements: Several minor AI behavior tweaks.

• Added 2024 race route for “Il Lombardia”.
  
• Added missing jerseys/mini-jerseys for a few sponsors.

Career

• Fix: Visibility points for the last stage of a tour were not accounted for (only final general classification).
  
• Fix: AI teams didn’t renew multi-sponsor deals. They can now renew all sponsors (though they can still retain just one for variety).
  
• Fix: Database size increased too much each season, slowing the game, and in rare cases (15+ seasons with mods of 200-300 teams), it became too large to load. Low-potential free agents now have a higher chance of leaving on January 1st (depending on age and potential).
  
• Fix: To avoid further issues, a maximum of 10,000 to 13,000 cyclists has been set (depending on the number of teams in the DB). If this limit is reached, only free agents with low potential will be ejected.

Pro Cyclist

• Fix: Revelation of teammates' attributes through seasons was very slow, despite the information skill being at max level.

Various

• Fix: "Grand Slam" and "Pantheon" achievements were unlocking when an AI rider/team achieved them (they should only unlock for human players).

A new patch for Pro Cycling Manager 2024 is now available!

• Fix: Manual planning/rider's race registrations being overwritten on race day, the previous fix did not fix ongoing games, only new ones.
  
• Fix: AI Teams stopped investing in facilities after renewing/changing sponsors.
  
• Fix: Added visibility points for individual and team time trials.

A small new patch for Pro Cycling Manager 2024 is now available in Beta, if you want to try this update before it goes live on the public servers, here is how to join the Open Beta:

• Open Steam > Library
• Right-click on Pro Cycling Manager 2024 > Properties
• Select Beta and select "open-beta" in the beta participation dropdown

Fix: Manual planning/rider's races registrations were overwritten by the game on race day.

A new patch is now available:

• Redesign of the tooltip for sprint informations
  
• Fix: on the left side of the inrace interface (our riders'panel) if the gap was too big, the time was cut.

A new patch (again!) focused on sponsor fixes for Pro Cycling Manager 2024 is now available!

• Better race objective confidence computation
  
• Multi year sponsor contracts would never end
  
• It was possible to have objectives of difficulty 0, below the lowest difficulty

• It was possible to allocate a budget of 0 to the investment assistant

• Failed objectives were marked “In Progress” after October 21th
  
• In the calendar, it was no longer possible to sort races by “State”
  
• The display grid woukd disappear, if there are no objectives
  
• There was a text displaying “LastUpdate_Tag” on the Summary screen on the World Ranking tab after completing a tournament

• Fixed sprint train, the problem with the ACCELERATION attribute: When the next rider in the train started sprinting, he took a long time to reach his max power, so he went slower than his pilot who already reached his max. The time to reach the max power was decreased, to fix the issue.
  
• Fixed sprints in auto mode. In bunch sprints, with player's team on auto, sometimes sprinter was left alone.
  
• Fixed ai sprint, sprinters were losing too often their sprint train

Dear players,

We'd like to give you a few explanations about Sprints in PCM 24.


This is the sprinter who is in the wheel of his lead-out man and who falls slightly behind when starting
his sprint.

This is something we're looking after. It was not integrated into patch 2 (Open Beta since June 27th) because it is not a simple fix to do and we explain why:

Investigations showed it's not a new problem, but the cause has been in the game for several years. This does not mean the problem was necessarily as visible, because as always any other effect may have influence on that and could either soften or make it worse.

The cause is essentially a problem from the "Acceleration" attribute and how it's utilized in the engine.
When you are well protected in the wheel of your pilot and he still has red energy, and suddenly you
start your sprint: you have kind of a double penalty:

1. Wind effect: sprinter loses wind protection.
   
2. ACC effect: sprinter takes some time to reach max power (depending on ACC's value).

So while your pilot is at maximum or nearly maximum power, you have your sprinter far from his
maximum value AND penalized by the wind : this is enough for him to lose a few meters to his pilot,
instead of passing him directly as you would expect!
The lower the ACC value is for the sprinter, the more we see the problem.

Regarding the Wind effect, not many things to say, it is the desired behavior.
Regarding ACC effect, the actual timing to reach maximum power is probably too long and it's the heart of the problem here.

What we’re working on actually is to diminish the time to reach this maximum power, and it has a clear
positive effect on that problem.
First minor side-effect is that the ACC attribute will be less important, but it could be acceptable (and we can say it was maybe too important).

Another side-effect consequence is that it changes the sprint’s dynamic: red energy no longer empties in the same way.

It's good to remember that it's not a simple system but a complex one with lots of data and actors. So we need to test, ensure we do not make things worse than it was. It's clearly easier to break the system than make it a bit better.

To end on a positive note, as we publish this news, we have a fix already well advanced, internal testing
is underway and we hope to be able to release a patch for this issue next week.

Our new patch for Pro Cycling Manager 2024 is now available for everyone!

• Tweak: modification of collision condition for sprint (now a 6+ % slope also desactivate collisions in the last 5 km when there are important curves).
  
• AI improvement: on hill stages with a flat finish, sprinters who survives the climbs uses their teams to control the finish.
  
• Sprint trains improvements: 1) sprint trains were sometimes too slow and often only with one teammate instead of a full train, 2) when a rider in the sprint train had no more red energy the next one did always not took the relay 3) sometimes a rider that should participate in the sprint's train did not.

• A rider in the breakaway is not considered dangerous enough by the peloton. His time lead in the stage is not taken into account to compute his dangerosity.
  
• When the protector runs out of yellow energy, it begins to zigzag

• Added: During interseason (October 25 - December 31), player has edit tools to change his team's identity (Sponsor's page).
  
• Modding : a sponsor without existing jersey cannot be the main sponsor anymore
  
• Increases the chances of increasing the budget of contracts that extend
  
• Add possibility to the current sponsor to extend contract
  
• Send news to inform the team of the next budget at the opening of the market rather than intersession
  
• Add news before the last contract offer to inform the player that he soon has more offers
  
• The duration of new contracts can be greater than 1 year
  
• Fixed visibility objectives not being registered when lesser than the target
  
• Failed objectives are marked “In Progress” when we pass October 21

• Added: display sprint bonuses and results
  
• Added: display multiplayer info

• Fixed multiple bugs/exploits when leaving the calendar without validating

• Fix Team Time Trial classification : only leader was counting

• Fixed shortcut it is now possible to make a time gap between two riders
