I love this game.

I play it infrequently these days, but its one I keep coming back to.

Sometimes after years of being away.

It's punishingly and progress always feels earned. There's nothing cheap.

I do enjoy the game, but i have trouble recommending it. It has an interesting story and world wanting to be told, but clunky systems and mechanics get in the way of it all, most obnoxious of them is the constant RNG getting in the way. Getting familiar with the game only helps a little bit. Even with everything in your corner, trying all out to get a cohesive story out of things is nearly impossible. Quite simply, you'll die so often that you'll get chunks here and there, but never a single unbroken line.

In addition to that, in pretty much all the random events, you have no agency whatsoever. I understand trying to push a narrative that doing the right thing is likely to get you killed. But the outcomes of all the events basically boil down to, leave without interacting or be beaten, stolen from, killed outright or the exact opposite of the thing you want.

All in all, interesting but i can't recommend it.

Shakes fist at addicting RNG! I'll be damned, this is strangely compelly to keep trying over and over. TF, tho. I cant play this game for ****
