We have just published a new build for the demo. In that update a couple of bugs we noticed and feedback points from users are adressed. The main update announced a week ago was the input possibility added for keyboard/mouse and there were still some graphical feedback and sound updates needed to complete that feature. Additionally we noticed there were some rough spots in the first tutorial where in case you died or missed the tutorial action to do during the weapon system test there was a bug that led to the ship being pulled away and flying no longer was doable.

In detail:

• Gamepad pulling down the racing ship or in general dragging in a direction when no input is made - fixed
  
• Tut Basics map: endless pitch and tutorial not triggering - fixed
  
• Switching to alternative gamepad input scheme not triggering - fixed
  
• Respawning in Tut Basics map not forcing racer to wrong direction

• Fluid switch between gamepad and kbm at any point has more UI feedback and also shows an icon for which one is registered in the GUI
  
• Editing profiles now has either Keyboard input or spawns a virtual keyboard when gamepad is active
  
• Voice feedback or board computer now responding to correct input active
  
• Respawning in general more lenient and giving player more chance to re-orient

Powerups now have a visualiziation added on the racer with various 3d elements on equipping.

Dear StarBoosters,

after SteamNext the main feedback we got was that input is not as easy to adapt to as it could be...
Mainly we received quite some notes about the missing Keyboard & Mouse integration for players not having a gamepad or not beeing used to it too much.
Originally we envisioned StarBoost to be most enjoyable with a Gamepad but of course we noticed this was a common theme - so we react to it.
Putting in a lof of hours to get that out quickly: Keyboard and mouse is now fully integrated into the game, so cruising the GUI and also playing with KBM is entirely possible.
To be honest: we even feel like this is surprisingly comfortable for ourselves as well - and we have hundreds if not thousands of hours of controller practice with the game ;)

But that aside: of course we want to make the entry barriers and frustration points for new players as low as possible, so that feedback was immensely helpful and we hope it smoothes out any discomforts new players would have.

We are still ironing out little bugs here and there but we feel like this is a great addition to StarBoost and hope to reach an entire new group of players with that update. The update is live NOW with a build we just uploaded: 0.8.2 Alpha. The next step for us is to add customizable input for players in general to the game, this will be targeted for the next weeks.
