Trainz 12 will soon be removed from sale on the Steam Store. You will still be able to play the game but our official support period will end (after 9 years).

To ensure that you have an easy option to upgrade to one of our supported games, you can now purchase Trainz A New Era for just Sale begins April 16 10 a.m. PT

For Trainz 12 users, the biggest thing you will notice is the graphics engine has been completely overhauled. On a like-for-like setting, your performance will improve (but make sure you don't max everything out unless you have the latest and greatest hardware).

Do not try to import Trainz 12 builtin content directly into TANE (as it will show "missing textiure errors). Please follow this guide to import your content[online.ts2009.com].

T:ANE come with four built-in routes and thousands more available for free on the DLS. We also provide a couple of hundred DLC items you can purchase IF YOU WANT TO. These items have been created by the community using the tools included in the game. The creators share the revenues from your purchases of DLC. If you don't wish to purchase anything, that's fine, and if you do, that's great.
